Also a good Idea. Or If you get the download you could store it on a CD and your computer. ;)

Yes, but without the disc, I carry it with me in a backpack where ever I go! I do that with all games I like, taking them with me everywhere. Well... my CD-drive can still read it, that's the main thing I guess, as long it works, but scratches have always annoyed me :'(, always... I can't stop worry :'(!

You should see EA discs, I don't know what they're made of but it must be cheap. I'm very careful with all of my things - but my BF2142 disc looks damn awful these days.  :'(

Ahh, I'm in luck. I bought the download  ;D

But, many of my other games are not so lucky..
Countless games of mine are no longer usable due to scratches. DVD movies as well. I'm very irresponsible when it comes to discs. But it seems they could be more scratch resistant...

I'm the most careful on earth with the discs I like, SS08 for example, I panic everytime I see a scratch on 1 of the discs I like :o...

I had a deep scratch on my old msfs discs and they polished out using a kit bought at the local pc retailer. Stop worrying.

If you're carrying all your fav discs around with you all the time... you need help ;)

I wonder if VSTEP would replace your disc if you sent the damaged one to them? This doesn't involve me as I bought the download version. I'm always going to backup my setup file though.

Don't quote me on this, but I would be very surprised if they didn't- provided they were satisfied that you had a licence key.

However, once, back in the dark ages (before many of you were born) I had a commodore 64 with 'stealth fighter' (silly name as the f19 was never a fighter...) anyway, Microprose replaced the tapes for me as I wore them out... after handling charge though, it was only a couple of quid less than the new box price.

Well I have Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 which is a great game and somehow I put a small crack in the disk. Sometimes it would run and other times it would not. However I contacted Atari to see if they could replace the disk if I sent them my authentic broken one and they refused. I was furious because it's like they don't care about their customers. It wasn't the fact that I had to buy another disk as I could get one off eBay for about £4 but the fact that they refused on the spot and didn't ask any questions  :'(

Probably because the replacement disc is so cheap to buy new...

I had the same thing with MSFS- they refused to sell a 1998 version (I asked early 2002) which I wanted for the concord (not the missing E ;) )

They refused (ok- there was a new version available) but the reason for it 'it includes the twin tours in New York... and it is a risk that terrorists may use that version for training). Not meaning to be disrespectful, but banning the version AFTER the attack...

EA replace broken discs - but it will set you back £7.50 (and your original disc) and a SAE. This wouldn't be too bad, if their discs weren't such poor quality to begin with. Like DJM, I treat my discs like Gold, but the way my BF2142 disc looks these days, just from playing it... :'( :'(

There are mods for all versions of Flight Sim that put them back in any way.  ::)
