What do you think about her look?

She is definitely ugly!
Uhm, neither ugly nor beautiful, I'd say...
She is the most beautiful ship ever built!
No idea yet...

Oasis of the Seas will be a beauty, comparing to this monstrosity - the Japanese Princess Kaguya, which they're planning to built:

*Cough* Length is 505 meters!  *Cough*

I wonder about the bending moments and shear forces on a ship with a length like that!

I think more likely they'll use the WAM-V (http://www.wam-v.com/what_is_wamv.htm) technologies, aka the flexible hull.

A rather crude illustration of Ballasts' point, "hogged" to the point of breaking. ::) Or "sagged". :o I frequently wonder how long it will be before something like this happens in reality. I don't think WAM-V could be applied to a horror of this size.

Reminds me of an article about the Maersk E-type which i recently read. The design team had to find a way to protect the main engine and the 80 meter long propellor shaft against the bending moments and shear forces on the ship.

I think that's one of the minor problems that the designers of the Princess Kaguya will face  ;D

But she'll more likely have azipods like all moderns cruise ships.

Besides, Knock Nevis was built also in Japan.

The Knock Nevis has the main engine fitted on the aft ship and not mid ship like the Maersk E-type. This way the bending moments and shear forces have less influences on it.

Sadly this is a Monday, and I am at University...

That's not a big deal!
Of course you can be absent from Uni at that day or go see her some later that day after Uni...  :P
Besides, I don't think that there'll be a lot of students in the Uni at that day at all.  ;D

Hey it transports 'animals'

We have found people = animals

thus a ferry can be a 'animal' mover

=> Ferry!

Why shouldn;t there be a lot of students in?

I meant that you can skip the Uni & go see the Oasis.  :P
But if in England there's a police that сoerces each student to attend Uni everyday, then I'm sorry.
