That looks awesome tractorman, we should put the SpeedFerries berth on the Prince of Waler pier in our Dover model, so you have somewhere to berth it

My favourites are the Maersks too....I've been on the Dunkerque twice, and it was a really tidy and spacious ship...quiet too, which was nice, it was like a ghost town on both crossings.. I don't go to Dover often (it was my first time in 3 years) so I was kind of annoyed when it got really foggy and I couldn't take any decent pictures  ::)

I wanted to do a Calais-Dover-Calais trip in a few weeks to try out the Pride of Dover before she is disposed of, but the £2 offer they had on was only valid if your outbound journey was from Dover

Norman Arrow is my favourite cat, it's just weird how there was big hype about her arriving and LD Lines were like "We have the biggest and best cat out there and it's going to strengthen everything at Dover and boost the freight". Then they take it off after about 6 months...

Seems like everything but conventional ferries has had problems at Dover, first the hovercraft and now the cats that replaced them..

They soon changed their minds..

I think LD Lines should charter 067 and try something out on the Irish Sea, then maybe send the Norman Trader over too :P

That was the biggest laugh I have had for Ages

Quote
FastCats are Stupid and uneconomical... we don't want one

Um actually we may run one  from D-B, with a conventional ferry

They are so good we want too and get rid of conventional...

they are not so good - we are laying her up and the switching her to LD, being replaced by a conventional...

OK slightly paraphrased, but still hilarious...

I don't like the look of these new 85m craft Incat are making, these super economic things covered in solar panels and more energy saving fiddle on it than you can shake a stick at. They have seemed to of altered the bow slightly, and I'm not a great fan..

Whilst we are on the subject of ferries, i've been wondering lately if the Pride of Burgundy was one ship too many for P&O...

From the reviews I have read, she seems uncomfortable, old and boring, missing sailings and sometimes operating freight only...And with the newbuilds coming she may prove even more unneccessary..

Nobody knows at the moment, I think most people reckon they will be sold to TransEuropa ferries, a ferry company which operates Ostend to Ramsgate using old ferries P&O don't need or want anymore

I think the opinion is that the newbuilds will replace the Dover/Calais/Burgundy and probably the Endeavour...

Sounds good....Dover/Calais to Ramsgate, Endeavour where she is or on the Irish Sea......but there doesn't seem to be any job for the Burgundy, but she's too young to go..

This is all assuming TEF get the PoD/C, which I doubt...
