hehe

I think then the kids round here would moan if the schools were then opened...

Course I have no clue if the local schools are opened...

When I was a lot younger, I remember it snowed, and all the schools closed except mine... then the day the snow melted... our school closed...

or just put all the snow around the headmaster's house so he's snowed in.

Can't you use something else? like tables, chairs, elephants, explosives....

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

If you are snowed in, i.e. you cannot open your door due to snow piled up against the letterbox, there is a solution.

Poke a hairdryer through the letterbox

Several professional, and ex. Mariners ;D

All I want to do is go to sea...I don't think about anything else, and I am not really interested so much in anything else (Except for music).

If I could devote the rest of my life to the sea I'd do it right now. I absolutely cannot wait to hit 16 so I can get to the college.

Then good luck to you. I mean that.

I am fortunate to do a job I love tolerate, and have tried doing other jobs to no avail.

It is rare for someone to genuinely enjoy their job... so top marks. Keep up the study and I expect to see you as a captain before you retire!

Thankyou

I'll get there...I just need to make sure my maths is up to scratch, as that is the only thing letting me down at the moment.

Then you know what to do... having a plan is a good thing; I certainly didn't when I was your age, so I drifted in and out of appaling retail jobs until my early/mid 20s... and I've been in this damned indistry ever since...  :-\ >:( :sleepy:

Hi Stu,

Well, I first enquired about the bridge visit to the Stena Leader about 6 months ago now I think it was...Which was fine, since I knew a chap called Tony Quinn, who we bought this house from...An ex. Second officer of the Stena Leader, which is now Skippered by David W Eccles. Tony asked David if it would be okay and I got the green light. So I went aboard (Last year it was now), and I was given a tour around the ship. The Chief engineer wanted to take my down to the engine room, but because of laws introduced, it wasn't possible at that time. (Even though I was buzzing from already being on the bridge!)

After that I wrote a letter to Brittany Ferries asking if I could possibly visit the bridge, giving them the dates in which I was going to France on (School trip). They accepted, and those bridge visits gave me greater insperation to continue further and follow my dream to be at sea up..

Then I decided I wanted to get a taste of what theory was really like...So I decided to go on a course at the Nautical Campus, which I am still currently doing, and have been doing for a few months now. Also on the course is David's Wife, and Son...Who I both know well now as a result.

On top of that I have influences like Tony, who helps me out greatly, and pushes me further.

Probably what motivated me in the first place was boating, from that I developed a love for the sea, and that was me set on what I wanted to do...! - I realised Maths was an area for me which I found hard...So, I have maths lessons after school now on a Monday to help boost me up to what I need. As for my other subjects such as Science and English, I am getting A's.
