I'd just like to point out that hybrids have caused more damage than all our cars have EVER caused to the environment. For example, mining for the nickel in the battery has caused huge amounts of acid rain, in fact, most of it landed in one place. And it caused so much damage that NASA uses it to test its lunar rovers.
