Someone remind me to actually use glow plugs on my truck tomorrow, I forgot today when I went out there, since I haven't used them for a few months since it has been warm, cranked for about 15 seconds and then let them cycle...

Note: Heaters do not heat up quickly after not being used for months.

Haha Glow Plugs. Last time I had any involvement with one of those was on our old Boat.

Used to be right fun starting her up.

First you had to take the Solar Panel clips on the battery off, then tighten the connections on the battery (Dad fitted a Kill switch there so that all the power to the boat would be killed when you're not using her) (This is the part where you're on the floor with your head in the engine bay).

Then once you'd done that, put the floor panel back down, then you'd have one hand crossed over the other, because, first you'd push the throttle up (Almost like choke), then put your hand on the keys, cross your arm over, and give the engine some heat. Let go, turn the key then "Dum dum....dum dum...........bup bup bup bup", then you'd bring the throttle right back down again

That was a good engine...Never needed any coaxing...Was a good boat that :-\ I miss it.

Jack.

Yup Jack,

and that is why ether is NOT recommended for diesel engines w/ glow plugs. The heat from the glow plugs can easily ignite something explosive such as ether, and backfire out of the intake.

We get 3 ft a year on average. With a total snow fall of over 6 ft, it just melts a couple times.

I'll try my best. Maybe I can take a break and go wash my truck or something, that would be more fun, and even then it isn't climbing up and down ladders since even at 5' 10'' (my bro is 6' 5'' :o) I can't reach everywhere, haha.

It is to big to fit in most car washes, even with my mirrors pulled in I would hit the sides of the machines.

+ I would rather do it myself

Austin, Speaking of too large for carwashes, we took our Excursion to an Automatic one, and the thing went off of the tracks in the middle of the wash it backed everything up, and had to shut down the car wash to get our truck out

Point is (Big Trucks Cant go to Automatic Car Washes)   ::)
