I recogn it's going to be a high threaded application so I'm gonna guess it's going to require at least 4 cores at least 2.5ghz. AMD will have the edge of Intel chips here.

I'm going to guess an Intel® Core™ i5-4440 Processor will be minimum however Skylake and above will be better suited due to hardware acceleration - depends if VSTEP uses hardware acceleration....

Sounds like a reasonable prediction. I wouldn't be surprised if multi cores are more utilized. I'm very curious to know how it will run on my PC.

It is not a laptop, but a desktop PC with an ASUS motherboard from 2009.

I'm excited. There's so much potential. I do hope there's a chance for modding though, Or third party addons.

That would be amazing, one of the main reasons why some games are still being played many years after they were first launched is due to the ability to customise certain aspects of the game, FSX being a great example, others including trainsim, and even GTA V to some extent (realism mods)

Modding shipsim sounds like a challenge though!

Also will there be a chance of this forum becoming busy again once such a game is realised? I sure hope so

I do expect an increase in activity on the forum. It may be necessary to give the forum some improvements also.

As for modding. I'm still not sure if that would be as easily possible. It depends on how deeply rooted ships are within the game structure. If each vessel is a standalone entity, then even if Vstep doesn't release a toolkit, someone might be able to edit those files.

If ships are more ingrained as they were with Questviewer, it will be more difficult. I tried modding the Oceana in SSE once. One small tweak in the data and the whole game went corrupt. I had to use the sourcefiles to make any changes.

When the time comes, I'll inquire about modding potential. I fully agree that mods keep games running far past their heyday.

Hello Jack,
It's good to see you again. hopefully the new Nautis Home will prove to be a winner. There are still quite a number of players around who will enjoy the new addition.

Does that still work?

Tomaten - I wonder how many have had to make new accounts as they can't remember the password and don't have access to that email account? I had to brute force myself into my own account
