Yes, It would be fun to use the lifeboats when the ship sinks, but then they have to
make SSE a mod there you can use ALL lifeboats on the playerships usable! :-\
And... I dont think they did that.... :-\

But youll have to wait an see. ;)

What about players that like the other ships?

Me for one NEVER use titanic, it is far to slow, and I have no relationship with it.

So you never use any of the cargo ships, the P6, the Furie, the Elbe, the Jumbo Javelin, the tugs, the RPA12, the historical yacht, the Red Eagle, the Ocean Star, or the Pride of Rotterdam, either?

P.S.: You mean, "I, for one, ..."

I constantly use the Titanic, but was never a fan of the "launching boats off of larger ones in Ship Simulator" idea. I would hate to leave the ship abandoned!

I am always a fan of more detail, though!

I agree with Austin, I do think VSTEP should axe Titanic from SS Extremes, there are alot more useful ships to learn and navigate with.

And you never know.. We won't have anymore annoying and rather pointless topics about this and that missing from the titanic model..

Finally, I think Austin means the slow responsiveness, not the actual top speed of the thing. :-\

But then the forum would be flooded with angry titanic fans, making topics about adding the ship back, but I couldn't care any less if the ship was eliminated from the sim.

Doubt it, they'll go to the VS forum and start moaning at the titanic there.. Least that game/sim would have it. ;D

Well those people have to realise that the title is Ship Simulator, the aim of the sim is to allow realistic navigation in the sort of vessels around to this day. Perhaps to inspire future officers..
It's not a sim to admire a ship that's in the past and on the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean.

VSTEP will make them happy only by releasing the "Steamship Simulator" + a separate forum as well! ;D

Actually, take a look at Etremes' atmosphere: With all the disasters and action they suddenly seem to be putting in it, combined with a new publisher, they seem to be turning towards appealing to a far larger audience.

That means that they are going to be wanting gimmicks and the like to reel more customers in. What company in their right mind would axe one of their most customer-attracting gimmicks when trying to get more people into the game?

I don't recall vstep ever saying that. Personally any mention of Titanic makes me lose my will to live (the model is (as good as it is to look at) nearly as boring as the film of the same name.). However, there ARE 'people' who enjoy it and to say it should be eliminated just because we less enthusiastic people deem it pointless, is wrong.

Oh dear... look how many mentions of titan... :sleepy:

Well, what do you think the aim of the sim is then?

Did I say VSTEP said that? I just said it as a general observation.

Well, I don't think the sim is about counting how many lifeboats Titanic has, or exploring her interiors. I also don't think Titanic has a place in the sim.

But I understand your point of view, I just differ from them. :(
All to their own opinion.

...and many people are even requesting to add Britannic, Olympic, Lusitania & such...
What's the point of adding all those ships if they all had 4 funnels & all dead long time ago?!  :o
The aim of SS is to have variety of ship types & especially variety in propulsion.   If Titanic & her look-alikes could had VSPs or 3 - 6 azipods - catch my vote for them to be in next SS's.

If you are STATING the aim of the sim, then you must be speaking on behalf of the developers. You could say the water taxi (as a boat opposed to ship) should not be in it, but then you start getting silly.

There IS a solution  :o Just don't load any mission with Titan... :sleepy:...ic in it. Simple.

1. Titan... :sleepy:...ic *IS* a SHIP! (was)
2. Aim of realistic navigation... Do you not navigate Titan... :sleepy:...ic and is it not realistic (there was once a time when things were done by a compass rather than GPS you know...)
3. WHO says only modern day vessels should be included?

The Titanic is in as a gimmick, a VERY effective one at that. Axing Titanic would no doubt hurt sales in Extremes by making it less desirable to both people that are here now and several future buyers. Consider that.

Considering that ship is already in and may not need anything done to it, is it worthwhile asking vstep to take it out just to satisfy a few people who don't like it.

The sad fact is that ask anyone about the most famous ship in the world and they'll say "Titan... :sleepy:"

VStep wants the most sales. The more games Titanic is in, the more of those games people will buy. The action in Extremes will be a goldmine for Vstep so long as they can spread the word about it.

Also, you seem to assume that someone who likes Titanic and already has SS08 will buy it a second time when Extremes comes out.

Also, there is a LOT that needs to be done to it. It's far from complete!
