Not a lighthouse, It's a strobe light. It blinds eceryone who looks at the ship before they see the ugliness

Redesign the top? But it has such a nice bar/restaraunt!

It's a port/starboard reminder for captain.  ;)

It's red on both sides. Now that really would be an epic fail.

C'mon..think of it as a cattle carrier..(which is what tourists are)..
I doubt the green/red balls are a reminder for the captain.. :)

Maybe so...I think the red/green balls are meant to confuse the cows..

Maybe the nav lights have to be that big to overcome the glowing ugliness.

EDIT: Isn't the 'C' in 'EPIC' missing in that pic?

I think that the Norwegian Epic is a very dangerous ship which can easily capsize in rough weather, during making a sharp turn, or in case of a collision. She is too tall, thus she has a very high center point of gravity and a very low metacentric height. She is very unstable and not seaworthy. There are much more cruiseships which are too tall.

I'm pretty sure she'll be all ballasted out, and there will be stabilisers too.

What makes you the expert in ship design and judging whether or not vessels are seaworthy?

And lol if you look at her name and how the 'C' is missing, the Epic is an Epic Fail...

But you know that since the middle of 17th century the shipbuilding evolved into something more than just art.  ;)

..or on her list.  ;D

I was on the Canberra during her last departure from Sydney, as lots of people had emigrated to Australia on the ship it's last ever departure was a big event with thousands lining the Quay, all the passengers and all of the off duty crew were on the starboard side for departure and gave the ship such a list (about 2 degrees) that we had to transfer ballast from starboard to port.

As we backed off the berth the cruise director came over the PA system and said "And if you look on the port side you will see the beautiful Sydney Opera House" 1,600 people went from the starboard side to the port side, and combined with the ballast which had already been transferred gave the ship about a 5 degree list to port.

The old man had to ask the passengers to move back to the starboard side.

I just remembered what this ship looks like.
