Luckily I've not had many bad experiences with computer building yet and I've built a fair few :)

I remember a time when i one broke my computer. It was working normally untill there was a loud bang and the fans inside were going wild! It was really loud and in the end I found out the disc had blown up and shattered in side the PC! :-X

so, has anyone tried out the website that I posted earlyer? and this is what I ment by P&O dominating the port of Dover. here are some good pics of the port of dover so you get a good perspective of the harbour if it were on SS10.

Ok, guys...  Back to discussing SS10.

In a teaser video there was a tropic environment shown. I was looking everywhere on Phi Phi Islands in Mission Editor from different angles & I haven't found a place with such shape mountains which were in the video:

So, probably there's some other tropical environment in SS10 + to release Phi Phi islands again in 3rd time I think would be boring...

Sorry, if this was said somewhen in endless topics about SS10, haven't found it myself.
Could be a addition to the Phi Phi enviroment. Like a new island.. Other than that I don't know..

I think MVsmith gave the location away in another, older post. Can't remember where, but it isn't Phi Phi  ;)

Yes Capt. Button it would be great if P&O were in SS2010 again, especially with the Pride of Kent/Canterbury/Burgundy or the new ships, and it could happen because P&O have already got a ship in SS, which possibly strengthens the chances. (And yes, I use that site, it's great  )

Has anyone asked if there is an upgrade option for those who purchase 2008 within a month or two or 2010? Would I have to pay full price two times in a row so soon?

Hi premier1guy, and welcome to the forum!  :)

SS08 and SS10 will be two different products. So more than likely you will not get a discount if you buy SS08 just before SS10.

The full price of SS08 includes all that is in THAT product, you're not paying for future version too if you buy SS08, so that's not like paying twice once you pay for SS10, they are two different games.

I bought SS06 right before SS08, that was my own choice, just like it would be yours if you decide to buy both. Granted, SS06 was reduced in price because it was older, which may also happen with SS08, but I did not get a discount, and wouldn't have expected one. They are standalone products, and both have their own pricetag.

Hope that explains!

Regards,
Fred

My friend Dana, who is from the Czech Republic tells me that Ship Simulator 2008 is on sale in Prague. She doesn't recall where, though.

P&O have the most ships going from Dover,
Pride of Burgundy
Pride of Kent & Pride of Canterbury are sister ships.
Pride of Dover & Pride of Calais are sister ships (soon to be scraped for two new ships, should be coming 2010-11.)
European Seaway & European Endeavour(Freight Ships)

Sea France have 4-5 Ships I think, not too sure.

Heres a link I'm sure a few of you will enjoy. View live traffic etc of mostly any ports around the world.

Seafrance Currently operate 4 ships, the Seafrance Rodin, Berlioz (sister ships), freight ferry Seafrance Nord Pas-de-Calais, and the latest addition, the Seafrance Moliere

They also own the Seafrance Cezanne, Manet and Renoir, but these are laid up and their futures are unsure (presumed to be sold.)

Calais is like under the question as it not shown in the video + no infos about it from the SS pro. But I hope it'll be there together with Dover & English channel, because to have only Dover would be like somehow boring.

would be great to use the ferries on dover to calais crossing

What do you think if they will add in SS2010 in the multiplayer the abillity to talk between players with a microphone or something like we use in yahoo messenger?
From my oppinion it will be much better. When you whant to type a msg to somebody you can't control the vessel. But so you will need to push only a buttuon and talk.
This thing if they add to it it will encrease verry much the realism of the game.I don;t know if it will be hard or easy to put this option in the game. What do you think about this??

Yeah I support the idea about voice chatting (if it's a way to give commands or simulate VHF commands or standard maritime language)  :)

Not so mysterious, I think. At least one of them has the name emblazoned down the side.

There is only 2 mysterious ships, and one, as pointed out by Terry has some funny squiggles alongside...Looks almost like writing... Must be some alien dialect...

"GreenPeace"... ???

Still no shots of Dover yet... :(

(Assuming the white coloured cliffs is Dover...)

And what of the ships seen with the Esperanza? I don't think they're frigates. They almost look like some other navy vessel, but I'm not 100% sure....
