Tom,

you can lock it by all means, but please don't delete it. That is considered extremely rude and will cause upset to many of the people who posted in it.

Thanks.

But, in Small Talk, the topics do wander. As we permit discussions about most things here, even though they aren't always related to Ship Simulator, we also don't get too worried when they drift off topic.

I trust you'll understand.

Yes by all means  ;D
Thank you for telling me I didn't relies it was rude. No, I will leave it unlocked, I was only saying that because I wasn't sure whether i should stop it because it has gone off topic, but if you say its ok then it stays open. ;D

(I can't bear marmite) ;)

How large should the navy vessel be? ???

Why have you just jumped to the conclusion that we are going to get a navy vessel in ship sim?

Let me ask you this: Lot of posts exist and Vstep made a Navy vessel and put it in what game? Pro. Why didn't they just put into the shipyard for ss2008? They didnt because of some reason, and that means largly, at 99%, we will not be having a naval vessel in ss2010.

You have heared our thoughts...

And anyway, many have given their thoughts in many topics asking the same as this one.

PS: Did you know that a catfish has 27,000 taste buds, and most of them are outside its mouth?

How about if there WAS to be a naval vessel in SS, could't you have it as:

A. Naval vessels would ONLY be avalable on your own game but NOT on multiplayer,

B. Only to have old naval vessels (i.e 2nd world war) so there would be no risk to 'military security',
or
C. If there was modern naval vessels have a 'made-up' interior also to avoid risk to 'military security'.

I have suggested, elswhere on this forum, that they put in an inshore minesweeper.

This, without the gun and sweep, was used as a training vessel for the RNXS and also some were converted into survey vessels and one into a torpedo recovery vessel.

This last would be ideal to use as a dive mothership as it could launch and recover smaller dive RIBs.

I have both photographs and a set of lines if they want to include it.

The dimensions are 120 tons, 105 feet between perpendiculars, two Paxman 12 cylinder marine high-speed diesels.

Also, for a different propulsion method, the "Brave" class partol vessels had marinised gas turbines also the RAF Air Sea Rescue boats had three marinised Merlin aircraft engines.  They are fun as you can use the outers for manoevering, the middle one for cruising and all three for a high speed run.

As to the security aspects, anything in Janes Fighting Ships is in the public domain.

I think that VSTEP could get rounf the security risk by having fictional. I think the man issue they face to bring one out is that of weapons, but as surgested above it is a great idea that you could not use this feature, like features on other boats.

Hmm, i'm 1 of those who want a navy ship in SS.
Fictional or not.
Older naval vessels, like those from WWII, ain't much secret anymore.
And about walking around to find armories etc.??
HAH, all Ships that already is in SS, have WERY little space for walking around, most on the outside.

Guess, there's a good plenty of Marmite has been involved in creation of that fregatte for the Pro-version. And of course, the modeller's name is well-known here, as there's a smell of Marmite is going from all boards over the forum.

How dare you, sir! I challenge you to a duel.

Loaded Marmite jars, twenty paces, at dawn tomorrow.

I think I'd actually like a coast guard boat. It'd be cool in multiplayer to find ships sailing unlawfully and like, pull them over and bust 'em! :police: :D

Nope.

The duel commenced at 06:00.

Terry was his usual cool, debonair, sauve self:

When Cushioncraft was overwhelmed by Terry's smooth charm, he struck! Cuchioncraft was fatally covered in Marmite.

But he had to keep this on topic:
