Do you think VSTEP will ever add that RN vessel to the ship yard. I am so into the Royal Navy.

There is a MINIMUM CHANCE that we will be having ANY Naval vessel, war ship, coastal guard, aircraft carrier or other aggressive fighting war vessels in the game. We, like SS2008 Pro, MAY just have a navy vessel which UNDER NO circumstances look like a current modern war vessel of any navy.

There are many reasons for this.

ONE: This is quite bizzare, but if ship sim had a navy vessel which actually existed, such as HMS Richmond or HMS Tyrless, enemy spies can use the walkabout facility, and general pictures of the model, to discover where the armoury is locates, what the wheelhouse looks like, etc, and use this information to make a plan of attack on the ship. Navy's will not want this, as it puts their soldiers in danger. Therefore no navy will actually give Vstep legal permission to model their ship.

TWO has been disscussed many times. This is a SIMULATOR, not an attack & war game. We have countless examples of those. Ship Simulator is for learning about dfferent controls which different ships use to move. If a warship had a control system like the Latitude, for example, there would be no use for it in the game. SS will be ruined if there is a warship in the game which can attack people in multiplayer.

If there is a special way of propulsion and different controls to use it only on warships and on no other vessel, a warship would be quite sensible.

Weird that VSTEP would release a Navy vessel in a public "pro" version and not the game version. Since anyone could buy the Pro version also. Gloat, where did you get that information?

From the countless topics which exist which ask the same thing.

The Navy Frigate in the Pro version looks nothing like one that is real.

The navy also serves other purposes that just war and not all coast guard's are combat minded.

Vstep could also make a fictional navy vessel, without the abillity to use the weapons. The RPA 12 also has fire monitors that cant be used.

Yeah make it...make all these navy ships so the player community can grow and so the hardcore gamers can get what they want - naval warfare. ::)
Besides you find a very detailed aircraft carrier in the game Crysis and Crysis Warhead with nice graphics (5 times better graphics than what you find in this sim), but you cannot control that ship, just walk around and feed your eyes with eye candy.

Anyway I leave it to VSTEP to decide, since they are the ones that makes final decisions.
We can just sit here and argue, talk and make silly predictions because none of us know where this game is going, only the latest game trailer can help us with that and I don't see any navy ship in that trailer.
Well, things can change obviously but that will not happen until it's announced by VSTEP  ;)

And second, my prediction was true. As soon VSTEP made a battle ship it was immediately requested to be added into the standard version. My next prediction will be that IF this ship is added to the standard version we will see several wishes about realistic naval warfare simulation and several other tipes of US marine, Navy ships. Personally I'm used to fighting and shooting games so I'm neutral in the question about this kind of supported simulation. :P

Hi,
I just wanted to reiterate what i meant when starting this topic. I do not want to see naval combat (ie, being able to fire missiles) in ship simulator, there are games out there already for that and that is not what ship simulator is about.

I would just like to control the navy vessel and prehaps walk around. Also I don't think it needs to be a model of a real navy vessel, it could be fictional.

I would like one too. But what happenes if Vstep make a naval vessel with no missiles?

one million topics emerge asking them to add a missile fireing option.

Controlling a naval vessel would be fun indeed, I totally agree. But it is practically useless if it has the same propultion and steering system as the Latitudes or Titanics (I highly doubt) or the Water taxis or the Veermasses or any vessel in the game, thus the point of ship simulator is learning different ways of controlling ships.

If a propultion and steering system existed ONLY on warships and no other type of vessel, then there is a point of it being in the game, but I'd say Vstep should avoid warships and agrressive ships, even without missiling options, if another vessel used a same propultion and steering system as some of them.

Pro has the right to have a warship, because some using the pro version are training to become navy soldiers.

I understand what you say, but I would argue that the game isn't only about different ways of controling ship, it's also about having fun. ;D but i do understand your point about people asking for missiles.

Yes that's what I'm saying. Ask me again after 5 years and maybe I change my mind. ;)
Right now I find this "simulator" pretty boring and I don't really need to explain that do I?
Maybe it got something to do with age and how I see things...since I'm not a kid but a guy with nautical experience experienced a simulator where you don't sail a ship with the arrows keys :P
Navy ships for me is just-another-ship, nothing more.

Your chariot out of here awaits, Sir.

Sorry, Joking

I am posting here even if I have uninstalled my copy of ship sim. A because I don't want constant lagging and the other is I dont want to play during this period of time.
