Yes.
Unless you put some REAL elaboration in your next post, I'm going to assume you don't know.

Yes, someone does know what kind of new vessels will come.

Unfortunately, that person isn't you...  :police:

Or you, either, apparently.

And I DO know that one particular vessel will return with improvements....

Many of the mderators are very much involved in the new stuff.

It is no secret that I am a Vessel Dynamics Engineer along with several other moderators and therefore am involved in the customising of all new vessels. So of course I know. But you don't. Trust me.  :police:  :police:

In that case, can you give Titanic the dynamics I specified in a topic I made on the dynamics board?

That being a turn diameter of 11,550 feet, and a stopping distance from full ahead, engines at full astern, of 2,550 feet? 80 RPM propellers couldn't hurt either... *more jabbering later* ... and are you the one in charge of the direction that the propellers spin?

No. But if a member of the original Titanic design team or sea trials team can personally vouch for those figures, I will do so.

I just watched the trailer for 2010 and it looks suspiciously like a revamped 2008 version to me.  Aside from the the enhanced land object graphics, the vessels and sea graphics look exactly the same as Ship Simulator 2008.  I just hope the finished product yields something a little more exciting.  I was hoping to see some hurricane force winds, new vessles, better graphics and some more realistic sea movement but I was suprised at what I saw.

What is the source of these figures if I may ask, do they come from the original trials, etc?

Links would be helpfull, we're busy enough as it is without looking for specs on a website full of specs, so a specific link to a page will be usefull. Cheers!

When data is reliable and we're able to track back to 'official' (or near enough) records, it will be very helpful for the game development. But it can't just be another batch of estimates and guesses, and there is a lot of that out there, on numerous websites and forums. Well, you probably know that, you visit a lot of them I would think.  :)

And I have no idea if VSTEP allready has all the 'official' data. They could well have, I reckon Jason would have hinted about such things too.. well logically speaking.

Paragraphs 5 and 6 give the turn and stopping distance in yards: http://www.titanic-titanic.com/titanic_sea_trials.shtml (http://www.titanic-titanic.com/titanic_sea_trials.shtml)

And the following Encyclopedia Titanica article is a MUST READ!

http://www.encyclopedia-titanica.org/speed_v_revolutions.html (http://www.encyclopedia-titanica.org/speed_v_revolutions.html)

It covers everything from center propeller rpm vs wing propeller rpm to formulæ for the nonlinear function of Titanic's speed vs her wing propeller rpm.

Just the tip of the iceberg of that article's information: Titanic's center prop was hooked up at 50 rpm, and not 70 like in the game.

Looking at the vessels in the video, i'd say Titanic is going to be included. Unless all of the SS2008 ships in the video are just being used for testing at the moment.

more realistic sea movement

To me, the seamovement looked totally different from ss2008.

And did you see the whales?
That means there really is a 3d underwater enviroment (I think).

So in my opinion, allready a lot changed.

I said this in another topic, i think the Wales intro wasn't actually part of the game, but just a fancy introduction. You can never tell though, pointless just guessing things  :-\

But i think they really are the white cliffs of Dover at 00:18..

Yes Im excited about the White cliffs of dover, assuming they are...

It would be a bit sick though if you had whales in the water right where your boat was heading, what would happen if you collided with one? It wouldnt bear thinking about
