Thanks Bottman. I already thought it was for the DP system, otherwise it would be a very expensive stern thruster  :P I wanted to know it for sure, thats why my question.

Thanks for the screenshots  :)

Indeed the link given earlier is showing our companies (Jumbo) version with two missions in the Rotterdam/Northsea area. It is given free to people who are interested in sailing with our company  (and off course are qualified to do so) and some commercial relations as well as all personel.

I do hope it will show up in the Shipyard soon as it is a very detailed model and a lovely ship to sail.

The azimuth control is indeed part of the DP2 system the ship is equipped with altough this is only used for offshore installation jobs and NOT during normal sailing and cargo operations. Therfore to get the best sailing experience don't use it !
Any questions about the ship or company feel free to ask or check    www.jumboship.nl (http://www.jumboship.nl)

Hi Jumbo_nth,

there I have found the attached drawing. There can be seen, that the single retractable azimuth thruster is located much more forward and it looks, as if the vessel has just a single screw arrangement. What's wrong now?

Bottman;
The ship is build with a double bowthurst, dual engine (at the stern) and a azimuth (retractable) at the 'nearly' aft. The picture you show should not be on our website and I'll check on that tomorrow.

FYI originally the ship was built conventional with a single bowthrust and dual engine. Later a DP2 modification was carried out and another bowthrust and a rectractable azinuth (aft) were installed. The picture you show was probably one of the 'probable' solutions which didn't make it.
We will soon have four ships in this J-type class, two with the conventional single bowthurst/dual engine concept and two featuring DP2. The 3rd vessel will enter service in november this year (now being outfitted with the cranes) and the 4th by mid next year.

In the game, does she have an azimuth and the normal rudder/propellor system? Or is it just one of those?

I looked at the jumboship.nl page and I found this video about the Jumbo Javelin and the company : http://www.jumboshipping.nl/awm/downloads/JumboOffshore%2014min.wmv (http://www.jumboshipping.nl/awm/downloads/JumboOffshore%2014min.wmv)
I thought it could be interesting to see the ship in action :)

I also posted it on the German forum, but that barge with deckload would also be very nice to tow!  ;)

I can't help but notice that in above picture, there's a rather large barge with one of the gas thingies that go on the Jumbo, on it. Will that be available for towing etc?

I understand from some of the posts that the "tower" on the barge can be loaded onto Jumbo Javelin. Not sure about towing the barge though, we'll just have to wait and see.

It's a large pontoon for oversea duties with the vacuum-tower on top. Until now (beta status) it's not towable. And of course, you can load the tower onto the "Jumbo Javelin", but this is just beaming, not loading.. ::)

It would be a shame if you can't tow it.

It would be perfect for the sherpa.

We had to move it, because the hypertransport to the lower deck is next to it.

PS Terry doesn't drink tea. Coffee only......

Why doesn't Vstep create such a nice bridge interior to all ships from ShipSim?

It's a question of money! The "Jumbo Javelin" sponsoring allows VSTEP to improve their usual quality to meet the sponsors expectations. :)
