Somehow i dont think this will catch on in the UK ;) Probably somewhere in the far corner of the world like asia or there abouts.
Health and Safey would have a ball here
If thats the low budget car carriers, is it any wonder people are buy lots of second hand cars and not new cars that have been hanging off the sides of that!
Wonder if thats loaded like that even in rough weather :P
Lots of things shrink in water!
rofl
Lots of things shrink in water!haha
might this be a photo shop job ??
Nope
Why not, If I really wanted too I could easily photoshop a ship with cars all over it like that.
I am pretty sure it is real
I would like to see your proof of this.
You wouldn't happen to be Vlad, WM..? ;D
http://www.rpmgo.com/how-many-cars-can-you-fit-on-a-cargo-ship
On top of having a full cargo load, the Bell RUS/Majuro from Fushiki, Toyama Japan comes full load, including all the walking space and pool areas filled with Japanese Exported Cars, they manually take each car the main deck by crane, and drive the rest off the car hold.
That just means that if they photoshopped it, they did a good job.
Just because it looks real doesn't mean it is.
The cranes on the dock look like container cranes, not a crane with a hook, and a spreader bar for lifting cars, you cannot see a hook or anything, good way of making it look like a car being lowered, without actually having one.
it's the Toblerone Express...
Well said! ;D
BTW, I remember like in 70s we had a milk in triangle packs:

I think im a little lost :D
Okay then...
But i wasn't referring to Magnetohydrodynamic drives, i was referring to the vessel with the mouth, featured in SD's pic.
Here's something to bring you back on track - a kinda primitive tanker

A ferry..The bridge is probably somewhere behind the flag..
After weeks of discussing the weird car loading on a ship, now let's move to something different...It's designed for going through very small tunnels on a mountain railway
So, any thoughts about this?

Probably this is the most weird train I've ever seen - the German "Schienenzeppelin" (Kruckenberg's train). ;D
(http://www.modellbahn.com/images/Schienenzeppelin.Prototype.800.jpg)
What would they have done if their tunnels had been a different shape?
I actually think it is a cat testing loco- one destined for scrap being used with a dummy paperclip to test the wires.
A unique- and apparently lunatic- locomotive scheme was to generate steam by electric heating
http://www.dself.dsl.pipex.com/MUSEUM/LOCoLOCO/swisselec/swisselc.htm
Total insanity!
Steam through electricity
What Kettle-mad Maniac would think of that...
Due to war conditions coal was in short supply, but hydro-electricity remained plentiful. Therefore some of these small steam locomotives were converted to raise steam by electric heating.
Dosnt look weird to me, im mean Richard (Virgin) CEO and Owner is supper rich, Virgin Records, Virgin Train, Virgin America, VIrgin Atalantic, Virgin GalacticOK. I'm not sure what point you are making. Branson is rich, yes. Powerful, yes. Branson (imagine being named after a pickle!) doesn't really own it, although I doubt he is totally skint. A bloke called Brian Souter and his pals own half of Virgin trams.
I take it you've never travelled on one... Not my favourite...
Huh? hes like the CEOAnd like, I have a CEO of my company, but like, he doesn't own it.
What is wrong with them?Less seats, smelly toilet, small carriages, seats don't line up to the windows, cold aircon- never heating(very nice in summer though!!!) there is a noisy alarm every 10 mins (psgr alarm in toilet being turned on by mistake?) Biggest problems are the chemical toilets and the lack of seats- don't forget that for those people who are forced to travel second class (ruffians) that half the train is devoted to those of us stupid enough to pay first class fares with half a carriage each.
Ok, can't argue with you on that then, Stu! ;D

Do you travel on them at all- I know they don't come to your part of the Country. They are very popular and most people prefer them, but I just don't like the smell; it reminds me of my old school.
I think you said you live in Dover???
It's faster to London on the National Express 020/021 than the train.
Portsmouth is another great place. Not keen on Southampton though.
Dover is so nice that it would be great to see it in SSE (along with Calais, in one environment).
What on earth is that thing?! :o :o :o
What on earth is that thing?! :o :o :o
You asked for thoughts WM ;) :P
Lol really TFM?
Snow Plough
Could be, although I've never seen them of such size!
I think this is the largest of all I saw in reality. ;D

And the trains are Running :o :o :o :oLet's hope V**g*n doesn't run trains in Europe then...
Also pretty common around here is the even more massive "Rotary Snowplow"

And it looks like her original Port of Registry at the stern has been replaced by a temporary sign (hanging from the stern bulwark) showing her new Port of Registry......is this vessel even legit?
wave music it depends how the owner wants the ship to look like

Double decker bridge - for what?
Here is a new design for PCTC's, made by Kyokuyo Shipyard, Japan, for Nissan. The two ships are due to deleivery later this year and beginning of 2011. Forget the old, boxy design..
