Is NVIDIA FX 5200 PCI Graphics Card good for Ship Sim 2008?

Hi

I've just upgraded my video card to a 128MB NVIDIA FX 5200 PCI Graphics Card so that I can play Ship Sim 2006 better. I only had a 64mb intergrated card before so the game went really slow.

I've downloaded the demo of Ship Sim 2008 and I now get the same problem that I had with Ship Sim 2006 where it is very slow to play. Does any one know if the 128MB NVIDIA FX 5200 PCI Graphics Card is suitable for Ship Sim 2008 and may just need some  tweaking or do I have to upgrade my video card again?

I'm sure i read somewhere (Maybe the manual) that the game does not support PCI cards? Also, 128mb is a little low, just bordering on min requirements.

I have what you have and although i have the odd crash now when im on multiplayer i have few probs. i would wait to see what the specs are for ss09 myself. i have a sad feeling we are going to need a super computer to run it

Did you have to make any changes to your video card to make the game run smooth. It take about 2 seconds to play 1 second of game time.

Hopefully not!!! I have just asked the developers about that, because I have a new PC and I don't want to buy a new one next year. But there there is no answer from Rotterdam..

Hopefully they will be able to make more of it controlled by GPU instead of CPU because GPUs are overtaking CPUs as speed nd stuff gets better. I read somewhere that a supercomputer with the equivalent of 300 E6600s was slower at doing something clever than a new one with 8 9800gx2s with some nifty CUDA stuff.
