To improve the sea state and the ship motions in heavy seas, we are collecting good quality video footage of these conditions.
Are you a sailor, experiencing heavy seas regularly?
Do you have a good quality camera, preferably a HDTV camera?
Please make some nice recordings of severe weather conditions and send them to us using Vimeo (
www.vimeo.com).
I know that it can be very wet on deck during bad weather, but if you can find a dry spot outside, please film outside. Video recorded through windows is usually not usable.
If you find a good dry spot, please keep filming for many minutes on end, without turning the camera too much, and without zooming in or out. Just the waves and the vessel's motions are interesting enough to watch for a long time on end.
