I believe it's called a chinook,

Here (http://images.google.com/images?um=1&hl=en&q=chinook+pilot+boat&btnG=Search+Images) are some more pictures, very famous type of boat.

A little note, if I may;

Capt Le Velle, I see you've made three topics about basically the same thing, this one, the Delftship one and the truespace one. Which are basically all about your new 'adventure' with modeling your own ships. (Which is great btw!)

But you'd have been better off just making one topic called "I am going to start modeling, can I get some tips and ideas?" or something like that.

I'll leave it be as it's not a big problem, but if you could try and avoid several topics about the same thing you're doing, that would be better. Just a thought for future reference.  ;)

Cheers!

Regards
Fred

the boat pioneer pilot might have not been a ship in real time but vstep decided to make a copy of the arie visser and repaint it and rename it to the boat we now know as the pioneer pilot boat.

Actually matt, the "Pioneer" is a real vessel, it's on of the RIB's used as pilot vessel in Rotterdam;

I think they didn't feel the need to make two RIB's as they are kind of similar anyway. It saved time. But there is indeed a real version of the vessel.

I think Daver Driver wouldn't be expecting the next step of getting the ship approved by V-STEP and then lots of trouble....

Also Just thought I'd though it out there that 3D Modeling with any "Real" Program is Hard. :-\
