What is the Third prop on the Freedom 90?
« on: August 04, 2008, 01:25:17 »

On the freedom 90, There is a steering wheel, The port and starboard fan controls, the two controls that keep her hovering above the water. But What is the thing Under the steering wheel when camera is at the helm. Another thing, Is it possible to go to the control room in walkthrough on freedom 90??

That knob rotates the two thruster nozzles on the front of the craft, look out of the window to either side whilst you turn it and you'll see them rotating.

Use these as a sort of bowthrusters, that you can use them in any direction.

And nope, you cannot walk to the control room.

I think much like the harbor tug it's just not worth the effort of the seperate model.

There is no room to walk in the cockpit, if you look around. There would be little point in trying to model it. Likewise, outside walkabout would be unrealistic, as it would be too dangerous while underway.

The forward thrust ducts are the primary means of maneuvering and course-keeping. The after fan vanes cause too much skidding. The thrust ducts are also the brakes when stopping, and are used for pushback. They are rotated by the < and > keys in conjunction with the Shift key to provide accurate steering with little skidding.

Indeed, what Marty said!  ;D

And llamalord, the harbour tug actually has the walkaround mode, but somehow it doesn't work properly.

If you are in a mission where there is also another vessel apart from the tug, go into walkthrough on that vessel, and then change to the tug from that view, and you'll find yourself walking on the tug aswell.

Pity it doesn't work properly, but if you are keen to walk on it, it is possible.

Hehe.. yep that's right. The walkthrough mode on it works fine, apart from not being initiated by the key you press to initiate it.  ;D

Llamalord, the Devs are busy responding to the many complaints from FlightSim fans that the bridge lacks the things found in the cockpit.
Every ship is being upgraded to have a button on the bridge to turn on the “Fasten Seatbelts” sign. :)
