So walked in to my local AT&T store, walked out with a receipt for an Iphone 3G. Should arrive at the store in 7 - 12 business days for me to go pick up.

But it's such an over-hyped thing.

The whole "Revolutionary.. It combines 3 products in one" pitch..

A phone, an ipod and an internet device... I got a 4 year old busted up nokia that is also phone, an mp3 player and it has a browser too.. what's so revolutionary about it.. widescreen? well I can see just fine on my normal screen.

I'm not a fan.. obviously.. too much hype with all these Ithings.

But hey, to each his own.. I just wanted to rock the boat a little here.

No, and I am glad it doesn't.

No, it's a phone that I use to call with, surf in case of emergency, and use for music when I am on the move. For the rest, I have this thing called a computer.

No, and those are not cool, I do have nokiaticisms.. or what you'd call that.

Plus did yours have that 4 years ago?

ok a mobile PC. But the Iphone has internet with java, flash, all that good stuff. It doesn't take you to mobile sites or low-fi version. As in this forum if seen with a PSP, Wii, or phone it would come with just text and not all the options. Iphone would be what you see on a computer.

My mom came out of the store with a Duo.

She misses the touch screen though. But it is better overall.

Oh btw.. I can customize my phone by downloading, say, games for it.. That is an application too, so yeah I have custom applications too!

Of course, 4 years ago, the stuff you mention were not around, if I would get the latest model, It would have all that aswell.. But I dont use all of that, so it's not worth the money to me.

Hehe, well I will like it, better then my "worse" phone. Plus I hardly use mine as a phone, just text messaging. So I like the email and web option, I will be able to connect to what I do all day anywhere now. Shopping will no longer be boring!!!

I have this one

You can call with it, send a txt message, play snake and even a personalized ringtone!

It's maybe old, but it's still working fine. this thing is undestroyable, it feld on board from the coaming in to the hold and still working. I don't think a iPhone would survive that.

It's not really that special, it's just an apple product, and anything apple is *cool.

I believe the iphone [8gb] is $199 in United States. Here it is $750 [8gb]. There is no REAL explanation its just outright ripping Australians off because that's what we're used to...

I'm really sad. Despite my tecchie-ness, I have a mobile phone that only gets switched on when I want to make a call or when I check for text messages.

I absolutely refuse to be at the beck and call of everyone else who has a telephone.

If anyone wants to speak to me, they can use my land-line and deal with my call centre (oh yes, I have one of those in North Wales).. If they can get past them, they can talk to my PA. If after that, it's anything that would be of interest to me, she sends me a text message.

No-one except her and my family know the number of my mobile phone, so that keeps it the way I want it.

My phone lasts about two months between charges....

Not as bad as the captain giving us all specs on the cruise ship we are on. Apparently we were running on electricity and if you looked towards the rear of the vessel you could see a long string of cords going back to L.A. where we were plugged in.

I have a unlimited data plan for unlimited web browsing, email, and everything else for only $70 a month.

I thought about buying an iPhone but it looks like I'm going to buy an HTC Touch Diamond instead because it isn't that "locked". I think Apple have very strict and strange demands to the users.
But the iPhone seems like a cool phone
