Why close a coversation???
« on: July 26, 2008, 13:13:03 »

I was not done yet, but ok.
Are the moderators on vsteps payroll or what???
I know we all say sometimes things we better not, but hey its a forum, freedom to express yourself.
Ok, i shall leave it alone, dont think we ever win this batlle.
Next time dont be so quick closing a topic, thx.

Best Regards, Frank

Hi Frank.

Which one are you on about?

For your information, Moderators don't get paid. If only...

I think this refers to the topic about being bored with SS08.

Just FYI, Frank, it was closed down because the discussion turned a bit nasty, and since there were not many remarks in the latter part of the topic that were based on actual facts, but merely rants, it didn't really serve a purpose anymore, so to prevent escalation, we chose to lock it.

All that needed to be said was said. The 'claims' made by some members are not factual and we tried to explain that with our posts. I hope those cleared up some of the misconceptions..

Regards,
Fred

Hi Paul.

It goes through phases, doesn't it? From time to time we seem to get new members who just like to make posts that they know will upset people and get a reaction. "Trolls" being the expression for them.

Other times, a member may snap at someone out of frustration or whatever and then rather than sitting back out of the way, others join in on one side or the other and it all gets stirred up, quite needlessly. This was one of those times I think.

Thing is, none of this is going to kill anyone, nor break their legs, or cause them any harm. So it's all trvial stuff and nothing to get excited about.  ;D  ;D  ;D

I guess I'll have to restart the Marmite thread...  ;D

When i posted in that other topic that is now locked (it was the one about being bored with SS), i was being as polite as i could be, and i always try to be respectful towards others, but when it gets to the stage where members are fighting because of each others opinions, i get really wound up. I sometimes wonder if certain members like to start an argument for a laugh? or just to annoy people?

But anyway, thats all sorted, i'm just going to leave SS to follow its own course, v-step know what we would like to see so its up to them. I'm not geting involved with those sort of topics anymore. I'd like to thank the moderators for making the atmosphere nice again.

Jack. :)

Hi Jack.

Off-topic maybe, but I've now done that video with the nice accordians at the end. I'm just uploading it now. Hopefully that will help restore the happy Summer spirit!  ;D

I always have a good spirit, but sometimes things turn out bad, but thats ok, before i turn into a girl its all over.
Lookin on the internet to find a better simulator then vstep, i found something rare.
The best i can do is alaska deadliest catch, well if simulation looks like that...ill stay where i am and wait for vstep to do better then they already did.
People who want to try that game, DONT.!!!! you be sorry, its not worth lookin at.

Well all is clear now, lets move on,

Best Regards, FRANK

Hi Frank, I've spent ages trying to cheer this up. People are becoming quite happy. Don't bring it all down again, whatever you do.  ;)

Bring me some Marmite!  ;D

To get us slightly back on topic. ;)

I'd like to put my two sence in to the mix.
I think our modorators do a great job and what ever point is reached by them is perfectly just.  Although we all seem to be annoyed when it's our topic or one we know well gets closed I still think this topic is kind of unnesisarry as far as the forum is conserned. :(

Marmite is always on-topic. And from the photo above, always on the floor and the walls.  ;D

Happy sailing.

Not quite.

Vegemite is made from vegetables, while Marmite is made from yeast (a fungus). Perhaps "Fungamite" would more appropriate?  ;D
