Most places have two tides per day (almost) and each high tide is around 30-40 minutes later than the one before.

The moon causes the tides.

The moon goes around the earth once every 28 and a quarter days (roughly).  ;)

Hello,
But the grounding happened near Russell Island, at least as it is at Tarr Inlet (85nm NW of Juneau), so that Terry must know precisely..?   8)

Is that where I left my boat? Doh!

Now you know where I really live....

From the Northern Pacific, go into the Alexander Archipelago (between Yacobi Island and Inian Islands), past Lemesurier Island and then hard to port, and up past Young Island and Strawberry Island. Keep going Northwards past Willoughby Island, the NW past Drake Island. About 45 miles further on, you'll find my Island just before the entrance to Tarr Inlet.

Drop in for coffee anytime you're passing! Call first in case we're out.

Well, when you have so many of them, it's easy to loose track.  ;D

Another American who likes tea? My wife (the Jersey Girl) drinks tea, while I (the Brit) drink only coffee. Really confuses people when we order tea and coffee...

I am not very fond of the stuff, which may seem strange from a marmite eater... You might think I'd eat or drink absolutely anything.

I have heard that Marmite is actually a medicine..

It cures a wide range of things...

Like headaches, broken bones, PMS, athlete's foot, ulcers, gastritis, pneumonia, tuberculosis, shell shock, pink eye, a series of psychological disorders and of course dyslexia..   ::)

And the only drawback is that it tastes like licking a cat's bum..  that's not too bad, I reckon...   ;D

Brovil, anyone?

Fred

Sideaffects of Marmite

Quote
Marmite may cause craziess. If use is prolonged you may end up in a padded cell. :D

Terry are you sure your not in a padded cell. The label says you should be.

So, Fred; please tell me:

To make this comparison,

(a) how many jars of marmite have you consumed?

(b) How many cat's bums have you licked?

Well Terry, to answer one part of that question, I would have to divulge information about my research that is only divulged on a need to know basis...

And since answering the other part would reveal which part is the part that would not be answered since the answer is considered to be top secret, I therefor cannot answer the other part either..

But it wasn't pretty... no Sir.. not pretty at all...

And that's all I care.. and dare.. to say...  ;D
