Why is it that the wood on Titanic's first/second funnel deckhouse shows up black at night?

Because there are flaws...  ::) They can't make everything perfect. If they made it correct then someone else would complain why they aren't black at night...

and the prodlem we have is that most of the photes of titanic where all takes from the dockside or another ship looking up at her
