1.4.2 messed up my serial key!

As soon as i downloaded 1.4.2. they asked me whut my serial was and i checked in the box of the game and put that in. AND IT DIDNT WORK!! wtf plz help

box? They don't mean the box

I think he meant the little white sticker inside the CD-ROM box. (Although it can also be on the back of the manual)
