I found this in an other topic:
Boxed copies of the Ship Simulator 2008 will be available from the Ship Simulator website on Monday 23th July. The game will be in stores all around the UK on Wednesday 11th July and in Scandinavia on 13th July.

In Ã…lesund where i live here in Norway a boat festival is starting today and i think that would be a great opportunity to release the boxed version ;D

Yes it is a lot of Norwegians on the forum :)  maybe thats because Norway have a long history on the sea and many norwegians work on the sea and is interested in ship :)
I realy think Vstep should have had a stand on the boat festivals here in norway :)

I'll join you.  When does Portsmouth have its boat show then?

BTW, play.com is currently packing my copy of SS08 as I post this - hope to have it tommorrow. Development of the Control Console can then continue.....

You hope to have it tomorrow?

If you live on mainland UK you haven't got a chance. It takes 3 days to get stuff from Play.com in my experience - and that's living in the SW.

How novel. And here was I thinking this was a thread about the boxed version of shipsim 2008. But, no. It's about your dietry habits. How quaint.

Are you on drugs man?

I agreee with STU

This is ridicolous man and pretty much of topic, as ferrymaster got the answer on his question and this thread is totally out of relevance I think a mod should close it

we already have too much silly threads on the forum. . . . . . .

idk and idc cause idtfdv (i donwloaded the freakin downloadable version)

Maybe you should stop talking in slang.
I understand the most, but most people on this forum don't.
A simple "lol" or "rofl" should be ok, I think the most will understand this, but things like "wtf", "ffs", "idc", "idk", "omg" not. Also, "ffs" and "wtf" have words in it that might be offending for some people.

Is the boxed version any different to the download version? I have bought the download one (as i was so impatient to play the game  ;D) but as far as I can see there isn't any difference. Am I wrong?

Play has it in stock but they wouldn't sell me a copy today (even 2 mins before closing :( )

But they seem to have a good stock ready for tomorrow morning :)

I wouldn't imagine any difference to the programme being downloaded (as a guess- I don't KNOW) but you get a nice box and probably an instruction manual (to ignore and 'dive' straight into the game).
