If you can run SS08 well, you should be able to run New Horizons well also.

Kind Regards

Thanks! ;D. I really want my mom to buy a new comp, so I just wanted to know what we should get if we do. Also, the controlls for the ocean star are very diffrent, how do I operate the controlls and what do they do? And I dont really know how to operate the red funnel ferry, the one with all the wheels, could you tell me how to controll that?

O, no I cant run 08 very good on my comp. I only have 512 mb of ram and a 5,500 geforce video card. I have to put the settings on low for it to run reasonably well! >:(.

O, never mind about the ferry controlls. I figured them out ;D. Although the next thing im going to say should probobly be in the tech support. Whenever I try to join a game online, it wont let me. I choose my ship and start position and press"join game". Then, after some time of waiting, it says" due to innactivity, you have been removed from the server. Even sometimes, it says that I have lost connection, but then I join the server again! This problem did not always occur. When I first got the game, it let me join any game I wanted for about 2 weeks, then the connection got screwed up and here I am now! I do not understand because I can connect to the internet from my comp and PS2 fine. Ship simulator is the only problem, any suggestions? ???

Hiya The Captain :)

Like you say, this should be in Technical Support, but your PC is under spec, so there isn't much we can do to help you with problems really, because the problems will be random ;)

Regards.

Spec = Specifications ;)

Check the system requirements here:

Not necessarily, but it may help the situation ;)

What I am saying is, we can only offer Technical Support if your PC meets (or exceeds) those requirements :)

O, ok, gotcha ;). I was asking people on the servers what the matter is and they said they diddent know and to post it here. I myself thought that the problem was that I diddent have enough ram and that it was taking too long to load. I thought that is why it said "due to innactivity". My mom said she would think of the PC some new ram, but not a new video card. She is veary mad that ship sim requires so much ram and stuff, and she really does not want to upgrade the computer. I also ordered the gold addition of ship sim 06 last week and I hope it will be in my mailbox tommaro. It said on the description that it only needs 512 mb of ram and a 5500 video card, which is exacly what I have now. However, on the forum it says 1 gb and a 5600 video card. Does this mean that the game does not have good graphics and do you know if the game is good?

Ive heard talk about downloading the ships from 06 to 08, could you tell me how?

The best option is to follow the forum system requirements in all honesty ;)

Ship Simulator 2006 is very good, and you have some different vessels in that version too :)

The Upgrade from '06 to '08 is for purchasers of the original Ship Sim '06 Add-On.  You can read more about it here:

http://www.shipsim.com/ShipSimForum/index.php/topic,3052.0.html

I'm not certain if this upgrade option is still available, because 'New Horizons' has now been officially released :-\ ;)

If you have any problems with anything relating to the forum, or Ship Simulator (any version), you can contact ANY Moderator.  In PM too if you prefer :)

Ok I have a question about the downloading thing. The administrator said in his post how to obtain a free"NEW HORIZON" liscence key and did not say how to download from 06. Does this mean that I will not be able to download from 06? Can I put in the liscence key from 06 on my forum profile and then will it appear under or on top of my 08 liscence key?

As the topic states, you need to have the Ship Simulator 2006 Add-On.  Enter that licence key into your forum profile, then if the download is still available, it will appear in your forum profile, with a link ;)

O, ok, well heres the thing. The ss06 i have ordered is the gold edition and it says that it is a combo of SS06 and the add-on. Is the license key going to be 1 or 2, and does this mean I will not be able to download anything?

I believe with that version, you will get 2 licence keys, one for Ship Sim '06, and one for the Add-On.  The only way you will know if the download is still available, enter your licence keys when your game/s arrive ;)

That's personal preference really, only you can make a decision like that :)

I think it's worth investing in to be honest, but it's really up to you ;)
