More guesses:

  • DJM juggling 16 packets of rice whilst standing on his head in Maddison Square Gardens?
  • Bob Marley and the Wailers making a surprise come-back?
  • Titanic at the junction of 3rd Avenue and 52nd Street?
  • Something less interesting?
  • A clear blue sky?
  • The rest of your life, stretched out before you?
  • Mad_Fred on my unicycle?
  • Traddles on a trampoline?
  • A trampoline on Traddles?
  • Sadsid smiling ceremoniously?

More guesses later....

Think about this...

If the Titanic had not sunk, she would have never been as famous and loved as she is now.. She would just have been another ship in that "golden age of luxury ocean liners" (Which I don't even agree with, as the modern ships are much better, safer and luxurious.)

And thus, that pier would just have been another pier, where one of the luxury liners had docked, one of many luxury liners that roamed the seas in that era. And not even the best of them either. Just a mediocre ship, badly sailed and badly equipped for safety.

So had she actually docked there, it would have been "just another docking" and nothing to be famous about as a pier. No big deal.  ;D

Regards,
Fred

If they didn't mention the mear fact of "unsinkability" of the Titanic.. would that iceberg have jumped in the way then?

That was a magazine reveiw calling her "practically unsinkable", as neither White Star, nor Harland and Wolff ever made that claim.
