The only death on Olympic was when someone jumped overboard.

Try 2 movies in the year it sank, then another in 1929, and again in 1943, and 1953, and 1958 (A Night To Remember), 1979 (S.O.S. Titanic), then in 1980, 1982, 1995, a 1996 miniseries, THEN the 1997 movie, followed by an animated movie in 2001.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg (pun intended), as it also made cameos in movies like Ghostbusters II and many more! Lets not forget about the countless songs and books, and, of course, the discovery of the wreck in 1985!

Todays Life Boats.... They don't need food for 30 days. Most of the life boats come with a radio. And with that i doubt a lifeboat would be out at sea for 30 days.

Oh and also about the world famous ships. I'd probably have to say that it changes because alot of ships were famous at different times. Like the titanic Seeing she was the biggest ship in her time she wouldve been the most shall i say famous ship then. Or the Andria Doria when seh was sailign probably one of the most Luxurious Liners in the days. That would probably be becuase italian liners were always like that.

Guess what? Before April 14, 1912, they thought that if a ship was sinking, another ship could arrive in plenty time to rescue those in distress, with lifeboats being needed in case multiple trips were required, and a certain incident proved that idea wrong, didn't it?

Just because you doubt something will happen, doesn't mean that it can NEVER happen.

Now my idea of a famous ship is usually the newest largest cruise ship in the world, which just so happens to be in the royal carribian fleet. So, I think that the new Freedom of the seas, being that current largest and longest cruise ship in the world, is famous. Not saying that it will go down in history for being the current biggest cruise ship, but that it is just well known for being that. By definition, famous is to be having a well known reputation. So, this ship is known for it's size across the globe, therefor making it famous.

The U.S.S. Enterprise is also a very famous ship, having the most sea combat in history.

Anyhow, it would be great with more steamers in SS. Even a small freighter from 1920 or so would be great.
