That’s a good question. There are bergs now, so I assume you mean floe ice. SS 2009 will have Antarctica as an environment, so I’d assume it will have that capability. Hopefully you will also be able to put ice in the North Atlantic.

As to having ice on ships; probably not.

Speaking of Ice, i was wondering if it could be added new weather to Ship Simulator 2008.

Something like this:

Snow(Storm,heavy,light),ice on ships,Icy looking water(sea Ice), cold wind.Even Frozen ships, it will be a winter wonderland.

sounds good to me, peoples we have a request here .Oh yeah the "snowstorm_small.jpeg" is a ship in pitch black at night going full ahead in a massive snow storm and fog, just in case nobody knew.

it would be great if u could get differnt thickness'es of ice in certain parts of the ocean or harbour ur in!!

ice on the windows would be a great feature aswell!

but we can brake ice with harbor tugs and also flush ice under berths in real i go with tugboat who is like IGOR K and we brake ice under 30-40 cm (thats in liepaja port (LATVIA))

but thats in Latvija. you never know what happens around the world. but that sounds awsome. and Third Mate, in your first set of pics, what happened to that small boat? its covered! might take hours to get off

but I say its only 30-50 cm thick ice and not more so the tugboats can do this operation

"Kur tu redzi, ka" will be right in Latvian! But that's not so important... Ice, snow and hail would be good but that there is an icebraker needed! If there will be a part of the Antarctica... That's true - in such ice-free harbours like port of Liepāja, Ventspils or Riga where ice is not so thick, is fully enough with tugs for icebreaking operations (excepting severe winters)... I'm working as OS seaman on the icebraker "Varma" in the freeport of Riga and we have never been involved in icebraking operations in this winter...
