Pushboat&barges
« on: April 06, 2008, 09:06:40 »

Greetings,
Afther i tryed ,i find that the pushboat + 1 barge,is reacting to fast on the commands.
Maybe someone else has a different opinion. However i've" hasve been working on vessels like that.
Remember that those barges can contain over 3500tons of cargo.
Maybe it can react faster,if your pushboat has 2 times 7000 hp.
What i find is that the turning to one of the sides, can be done slower.
Maybe other idea's??

Hi Marc,

it's the wellknown question between enough power and manoeuvrebility and the masses of the pusher and the barges! The sim-pusher itself isn't heavy enough to react that slow, but if he should do so, there is not enough power left for pushing four barges. There have been lots of sea trials with all tugs and the pusher to find a sufficient agreement between all those requirements whilst on beta testing. It's quite not as perfect as it should be, but VSTEP will advance the dynamic system as far as I know.

Greetings

I find that some of the missions with the pusher and the tugs are almost impossible due to the speed when towing. A lot of ships out manuever and run the tugs. I suggest that all ships have to obey the rules of the road when approaching a tug in tow and over taking.
