Don't get excited, the add-on has not been released YET!!

Can I just point out to everyone that the add-on may not even become available to download/purchase today? VSTEP themselves have not officially posted anything to say that the add-on will be released today, only the moderators have posted what 'they' thought was the release date.

So guys, as the Lighthouse Interactive (http://www.lighthouse-interactive.com/Ship-Sim-2008-Add-On) website says, it may be released on the 4th of april.

Btw, to stop those speculating, I'm not endorsed or connected with VSTEP in any shape or form, I just wanted to let people who believe what they read around the forums all the time know what might be happening.

It would have been nice if the add-on was released today, but I kept in mind that VSTEP themselves have not released any information. Who knows, it may still arrive today, but very unlikely.

It is released today, but it's a bank holiday all over the world

Because it's easter, it's very unlikely that anyone will get New Horizons today. Making New Horizons available as a download is probably not at VSTEPs to do list at easter plus all of the shops that are selling New Horizons are shut today. We will probably get the game sometime later this week.

Indeed, they only posted a 'sheduled' release date, some 5 weeks ago.
But it never said anything about the download version being available right away on that date anyway.

Sure there's been some speculating, but isn't there always?

There's nothing wrong with speculating, it's just when someone reads a speculation, and gets it into their head that that's when it's going to be released. People need to read carefully and understand what's going on.

This is why all the arguements start in the forums, and why people complain that VSTEP haven't leased this when they should have dne ect...

Just thought I'd post this topic try and stop that happening again and to protect VSTEP somewhat!

Actually tomorrow is easter. But it is a weekend. >.< Just wait until next week and it will be out.

Please also note: VSTEP dev's do have a life, they don't just sit in their office playing shipsim and making it 24/7 they have other stuff they do.

According to several online retail websites (play.com, game.co.uk, amazon.co.uk etc), New Horizon is released on Friday 28th March.

Which is also what the Lighthouse Interactive site says, so I have been told..

The 22nd was a 'planned' date. Never a guaranteed release date, even though we speculated and hoped it would be...

And it didn't say anything in the official announcements about the form of release either. So people that stayed up all night hitting their refresh buttons while the people that update the site were sound asleep, might want to reconsider, next time..

You are able to order it thru many sites with a guaranteed shipping date of 28 March. Now if Lighthouse, VSTEP, or whoever decides not to honor that without some sort of a explanation and notice then that would be REALLY bad customer service and would make them look like idiots. Especially since those same sites did have a release date of the 22nd before so that would be 2 times that they did that. So hopefully whichever group is holding it up puts out some release somewhere. The only reason VSTEP would be holding it up at this point would be because of something that was found that needed to be fixed. Those companies will make loads off the release so it being Easter really has nothing to do with it. The one to blame would most likely be lighthouse since they are the ones getting it to the stores. It'll come out eventually, we'll just have to ignore all the announced and guaranteed release dates since they didn't go by the 1st one and get it when it comes out.
