Add-on: New horizon questions
« on: February 01, 2008, 17:27:36 »

Having read the announcment of a new Add-On: New Horizon, and as I see that Agile Solution is included, is it the Add-on of ShipSim2006 - reworked for 2008 and finalized?
Also, if it is the final version, will it be a free update for the people who already downloaded it?
I see that there is also a new tug, can we have its characteristics?
Finally, will there be changes to the graphics, for instance the sea textures?
Regards,
Luc

Also, the water looked amazing there, do we get new water aswell?

Amazing work VSTEP!

Luc,
It’s nice to see that Bugsier 2 is included. I hope we will see more vessels from that venerable German firm.
She was built in 2006, 430 ton, 5576 bhp @ 12 Kt, 63tbp
Twin screw and rudder with Kort Nozzles (Aquamaster)
That’s about all I remember.
Regards,
Marty

Well seeing as there are screenshots of the Bugsier 2 i'm sure they wouldn't mind me putting up these renders.

These are rnders of the model in lightwave that VStep asked me to make of which you see 2 screenshots of. This is how the model looked when i gave it to them for conversion so hopefully nothing much has changed although looking at the side screen-shot of it in-game it looks like the main aft winch is not there but could be just a glich or just my eyes.

Anyway heres some images of it: http://www.simondr.co.uk/stuff/wip/bugsier.html

This model is very nice indeed, great work, Simon!
From the pictures, one cannot see if the winch is absent or not, a moderator will surely be able to confirm its presence (or not).
About the barges being included, I think one could wait, it could be an AI or autonomous ship...
And the bollard pull, at 1.13t/100bhp, is also impressive, 63tbp, Vermaas or latitude will certainly become easily pulled . I wonder if Igor K. will also have gained some power?

Luc

Well, our latest beta still came without the main towing winch.. :-[

And I can tell you, it's really fun to steer both, the original and the model!!!

From the photos it would appear that there is to be a new environment, the Cornwall coast. That should be very interesting.

I think that this add-on will rock!
You guys at VSTEP did a great job putting this together while still making free updates for the community. You don't find that very often now a day!

I know this has been asked a lot of times already, but with brand new features included, I have to ask again. Especially now, that the first screens are live.
All sailors with the Add-On for the SS06 will get this Add-On for free with all its features. Is that statement correct?
I thank you in advance for answering that one there.

See you on the oceans!  ;)

Oh oh hope they remember to put it in. This was done after the first set of files was sent to them and they received everything else just before new year so hears hoping. If not i think it will look kinda silly :O.

Also thanks to you for the photos you got they were a big help.

Hello Simon,
It's a great job you've done on that "bugsier-vessel".It's very detailed to.
This vessel can realy a big help for the "vermaas' and "latitude"

To have Cornwal,in the game, that's realy nice.If it comes out i realy will check that out.
Regards

they say Cornwll as a new environment, does that mean we will get Plymouth Harbour? If so will we get Devenport Naval Dockyard? If so will we get a RN warship of some kind?????????
I am looking forward to this addon.

Greetings,
For the moment, this is what we all know,an exact date of release, well, that's not a good idea.Like in the past it has been delayed everytime.
Vstep will tell us when and how,if the time is right.
Cornwall, that's the only thing we know, how far from Cornwall, the enviroment starts,??????????????............
Waith and see,it can stay a bit of surprice.

Hi Shipaddict

I might be..   ::)

I don't know when the next screens will be posted. But as the addon is due soon, "soon" would cover it, I guess.  ;D

Go to this topic (http://www.shipsim.com/ShipSimForum/index.php/topic,3052.0.html) and all (well maybe not all, but a lot) will be revealed.  ;)
