Absolutely Fantastic Work! Great Choice of Vessel!

Quote
Greetings,
Maybe you did not see what i have written about the tugspots below the waterline.
The Berge Stahl, should be in the game as a fully loaded vessel,so the other tugspots will be underwater.
This loaded vessel, makes it not so easy to handle, because any thing you want to do has to be very slowly, and it will takes some time to react.
This where the grade of difficulty will be,specialy when you want to dock her,you will need tugs on this vessel. An exelent vessel for the onlinegame, when that comes in.
Regards
Marc

Marc, just curious about a comment you made earlier in this topic that it will be modeled as fully laden in the simulator. I'm sure you realize that fully laden she can only go alongside in a few places worldwide. So currently in Ship Simulator that's only one berth available for her in Rotterdam. Or is the vessel just going to look fully laden but will not actually have her full draft modeled?

I guess i'm also making an assumption here that there is some level of "realism" in SS#08 Bathymetry data.  :D

Cheers and keep up the great work!

Greetings Larse,
Yes,i asked this because than it's more difficult to dock her,and there is already one harbour in the game where it can come, fully loaded.(Port of Rotterdam)
So if you come from the Northsea, you can try to dock her than in this port?(just an idea)
Thanks for the comment on this matter,i hope you are pleased with my idea of this vessel.

Hi Marc,

Thanks for your feedback. No worries, I'm totally pleased with what you guys are doing with this project! It's really fantastic work! :D

I understand from a discussion I've had with a Rotterdam Pilot that when she goes along side at EECV in Europort fully  laden they are extremely restricted along the entire route. Due to the high cost of keeping the channel dredged to such depth they don't have large margins and have to really watch the exact position very closely. The port of Rotterdam has it's own hydrographic service which constantly monitors the deepwater access channels and updates the pilots with extremely accurate bathymetry data (far better than what we have on our charts). So, while she can enter the Port of Rotterdam at 22.5m she is restricted to a very limited route in the port, requiring great care and careful planning.

My only concern was that when we get to have fun with this gorgeous model, we aren't bouncing her all the way in. ;D But I don't know how the bathymetry data in the game compares to the actual port in reality. Maybe it's not even an issue. But i'm sure if it is you will find a clever way to make it work. ;)

So, again...great choice of vessel! Fantastic work! and really look forward to the nice challenge this will add to the game.

Succes!

Larse
