Any one know how exactly Edward Smith died? there are conflicting claims.

In all that panic, with the banging of lifeboats and veri flare pistols... Maybe guns were fired into the air to get attention/stop a riot. But I find the idea of Murdoch shooting someone odd. As I said, I never liked that dreadful film one bit.

In what way? Is this about the arguement about whether the ship broke above or below the water? What IS the current theory?

that the ship started to break, but it stoped at the double bottom hull, the top of the bottom hull split open, let the water in, pulling that part of the ship down, SMASHING the top parts of the two halves together, mangling them, before total separation occured. to see what lead to this theory, get the history channel DVD: Titanic's Final Moments: Missing Pieces

i remember seeing the film set of titanic, it was huge i mean it was just like the real titanic, except the film set one was scafolded and half of it wasnt covered

OK. Thanks for that. At least it shows the ship breaking on the surface or just below. Some films showed it sinking in one piece. We shall never know though, will we?
