If that's Ausy rules football you are refering to, i've gotta hand it to you there mate.  Seen it on tv here.  Thought rugger was rough, but the way you guys fly into each other, make me cringe.  Reckon you must be made of rubber or something *Chuckle*.  Regards, Brian

Hahah, no I was reffering to soccer and also rugby league.. AFL is crazy

When I was young? (to be on-topic). Hmmm... Chasing dinosaurs, rampaging with fellow Vikings and so on.

Or when I was in my young teens, designing and building electronic devices, such as disco lighting systems (a very new-fangled idea then), sound systems and so on.

It may say like nothing much, but in those days, it was ground-breaking new design work. Back then, there were no computers, no internet, not even calculators or digital watches. We listened to the wireless on long, medium and short wave and there were two TV stations (BBC and ITV), which started at about 5 in the evening and finished at 11 with a quick burst of "God save the Queen", for which my parents stood up.

Like Fred (see below) I also played various musical instruments (still do). Bass guitar, drums, keyboards, piano accordian, harmonica, descant recorder and so on.

Chasing dinosaurs.....

Finally we know the true reason of their extinction..  they didn't go extinct at all, they were tired of running from Terry, built themselves a Dinosaur space-ship (yes they were intelligent beings) and blasted off into outer space.

I bet that's why so many bad SF films feature reptilians as the bad guys too, that must be partially based on the truth then after all....    ::)

Actually, you're wrong.

I opened the caveman equivalent of McDonalds and we served Dinoburgers until we had eaten the lot.

Then we had to close the chain of restraurants down. End of the Terry Dactyl Burger Chain.  ???

To keep on topic, what were your hobbies when you were a lad then, Fred (or a lass if applicable)?

 ;D

Lad would be appropriate, although I haven't checked for hours now..

When I was a young lad, I played football and later did karate. Then I discovered music(al instruments).
Been playing in bands from about 15 years old and that's what I spent most of my free time on untill today, numerous bands, loads of gigs and lotsa practise obviously.

There were other things besides that, I read a lot, enjoy a spot of fishing (or angling if you will) now and again and of course spend a lot of time with pc's and so on, mostly with simulation games. And well, when I was still a young'un, just going out with a handfull of little mates into the forest or whatever, being young and playing outdoors, was a great thing to do. Nowadays most youngsters are 'digital' in their free time, but that wasn't around when I was their age, really.

And I think that it wouldn't be a bad thing if kids did more of that old fashion kid stuff again, instead of being online all the time, or otherwise using modern technology instead of nature or simpler ways to entertain themselves. But hey, maybe that's just me.  ;D

Apart from the computer (mostly simulators; flightsims, racesims and tactical sims like ofp/arma) I am a musician.

I played guitar and bassguitar for about 16 years or so. Played in dozens of bands throughout these years and these days I play the drums, which I have been doing with a new band for about a year and a half.

What type of music do you play Fred?

It's not really a hobby, but I've been a session musician for 4 years now, been playing guitar since I was 7. My 2 proudest moments in relation to that are playing 3 gigs with a hugely popular band (westlife...shameful, but the money was good!), but I've also done some work with the audio department of Rockstar Games (scoring/composing/playing, I know virtually nothing about making games :)).

Apart from music, my hobbies are model tugs, xbox 360 (live + Halo/Gears/CoD4/GTA4 is almost an addiction for me), and my favourite, Star Trek. :)

Looks expensive.. ;D

My hobbies are, well, I'm a musician, I'm in a band, and uh.. well I play the keyboards, and I also do some work with the Sax, Trumpet, and Tuba, I used to work with the Flute, but if you can play the Sax they're like 85% the same thing..

I love Nightwish, they're the best.. :P

I'm a bit of a programmer/script writer, (a Linux programmer). I also quite enjoy 3d modeling.. (when there's SOMETHING TO MODEL...) Haha
