Classic Ships Or Modern
« on: June 08, 2007, 11:24:41 »

Hiya :)

I don't know about anyone else, but I personally prefer the old classic ships.

Most of my fascination with shipping goes back to one poignant moment in my life.

The day they found the remains of Titanic (just happened to be my Sisters 10th Birthday).  That day changed my life forever and I have been fascinated with the history of that great ship ever since ;)

What are your thoughts/opinions?

Regards.

DJM.

Does the Pride of Bilbao, of 1986 vintage count as modern or classic? :)

Sorry. Had to ask this obsessive question

To be perfectly honest, I never actually thought of year-end for classic and year-start for modern  ::)

I'll leave that up to you ;)

Thinking about it though, I guess it depends on your age.

For me, classic is pre-1940's, whereas a 15yr old may say pre-1980's ;)

Well, I'm about the same age as you but due to the rust on the ship ive decided to call her a classic ;)

Steady on old boy... It's only a ship.

Have you ever been on any of these cruise ferries?

A highly respected global moderator of a SHIPPING SIMULATOR forum who hasn't been on a ship?

My illusion, sir, is shattered.

Have you never been on a pedalo or rowing boat. That'll count ;)
