Ship Sim Demo 2008 runs slow

Hi fellow shipsim fans,

I discovered this very nice simulator this week. First I installed the Shipsim2006 demo, and this runs very fine.
Yesterday I installed the Shipsim2008 demo. This Sim loads even faster than Shipsim2006 demo. But already in the main menu it is noticable that the programm runs very slow. It is as if the programm is interrupted for a second constantly. During these seconds it does not accept key nor mouse inputs. And when going into the game, the view is ok, but the same "shocking" interruption is present, however the sound is all ok, smooth and very vivid !

Now this is my hardware:

AMD +3000 1,8 GHz with 1,0 GB RAM, 400MHz busspeed.
250 GB harddisk and NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 videocard
XP Home edition

Now I see that 1,8 GHz processor is not the required 4 GHz, so this could cause the low framrate, but why are the menu's before the simulation starts also so slow?

Hope anyone has an idea.

Well, all I can see is your graphics card. And i'm no expert! The minimum card is Ge force 5900. I got 7600 and it runs a dream!

This isn't necessary, you can have both installed at the same time

These comments are correct, please check the minimum system requirements, here:

Trying to run even the demo below the minimum, you will have problems, and these can be random unfortunately.
