I'm looking at buying a competitor in Portsmouth, so I can get a nice holiday home on the Solent office on teh Solent. Tax free, of course  ;)

You are truly mad, then. Stokes Bay, maybe. Best thing to do with competitors in Portsmouth is to await the inevitable decline and get them cheap. (Oh dear, here come the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune....) SORRY! Only joking.

Oh, why won't they give it a simple number... 5750 sounds like a good, albeit random, number.

and to reduce the number of letters you need to type, why not put BS at the beginning instead of ISO.

(Yes, I really do belong in a museum)

They do. The actual title in the UK is
BS EN ISO9001:2000 revision e.

No, as always, I appreciate your wise comments. Pompey has many bad points to it, but I am really impressed at the way that various official groups (councils, police, psychiatrists) are actually trying to deal with it. Better than some of the holes elsewhere, where the rot has set in. I don't know Stokes bay, tbh.

Remember that in the event of the collapse of civilisation, being near the IOW (which will likely be the only part of Britain to survive apocalyps) is a good thing.

Of course, living in Selsey brings almost total isolation. The news about that work of Modern Art, "Stonehenge" was greeted here with plans for a ritual sacrifice of anyone with an IQ of over 25 in case such new and strange things upset the lords of the weather and mud.

We're still searching for such a person, you understand, so the skies may darken in the meanwhile from the outrage of irritated deities.

The lost land of IoW can of course be seen from here. In case you were wondering, the reason we consider it "lost" is because we don't know which way we're looking. Or indeed, which way is up.

Yes, original version.

We have the very first jar ever made. It is worshipped every Wednesday, of course.

Being Marmite, it is eternal.

I think it would probably kill Americans, never mind the party.  ;D

My wife is from New Jersey and she reckons that Marmite is more toxic that most of what gets poured down drains in New Jersey...

Rather like extract of a fungus with a bit of sodium chloride (NaCl) added.

That's rather strange since it is made from yeast extract with salt added.  ???

Like it, Terry. Goes to show how you can add a +ve or -ve spin just by phrasing one thing in two different ways.

Mr DJM... I'm getting a bit worried about you. I think you are losing grip on reality... Perhaps it's Marmite deficiency?  ???

Many resist the lure of Marmite, but in the end Lord Marmite-on-high will get you. And you will be punished and cast into the eternal pit of damnation (also known as a Glasgow pub at closing time) unless you repent your sins and allow Marmite into your life...

Youknow, there's some Jehovas witnesses who live nearby (very nice people actually, but I always politely decline, but still they insist...) I think I'm going to knock on their doors when they're half asleep and spend 9 hours converting them to marmite worship
