Oh dear! That sounds like this is going to a political discussion. I've had enough of them for this month  ;)

(So I shall just leave it to say that it goes without saying that I like the good people of Europe- just not your politicians (like ours here) and your anti-Marmite policy!)

Actually, there really ARE people here that think "all foreigners are the same"... And apart from having one thing in common- that they usually speak better English than people here- this isn't true.

It is the original Marmite foodtype which gave its name to the actual cooking bowl, which in turn gave its name to THE worlds greatest food.

So Sorry Stuart, If I Type Like This Then I Won't Make The Same Mistake Again! :D

I miss Marmite, how about instead of picking up on my lack of capitalisation you actually do something to solve the problem and get up off your backside and post me a jar?

:D :D

I DID try that, Clanky. Unfortunately the post office says that unless Marmite has its own passport, it's not allowed to leave the Country.

The FCO says there's a very real risk that without Marmite controls, it might make a break for Denmark.

Haha- it would make an interesting challenge to get Marmite to you anyway. I suppose I could tie it to a 'sea'gull and say "that way" and get it dropped onboard.

Further to my above post, it has come to my attention that several thousand jars of Marmite are being detained in a Prisoner of Jar camp in Denmark, known as stalag jar 3.

HOWEVER! I am reliably informed that at least 200 jars are planning to tunnel out and head for neutral Sweden. One jar, whom we shall call "Steve McMarmite" is planning to ride over a barbed wire fence on a motorbike.

He said that Marmite in the camp are in good spirits, but spread a little thin. He said that "What people will call the battle for marmalade is over. The battle for Marmite is about to begin. We shall fight them on the toast, we shall fight them on the sandwiches. We shall fight them on the bread rolls and on the crackers and we shall never, never surrender. And if it should happen- which for a moment I do not believe- that the forces of Danish stupidity overtake our jars then I am ever confident that the masses of Marmite supporters in the whole world will rise up in protest."

He then went on to say "and if the Marmite Empire should last for 1,000 years, THIS will be our finest hour."

To spread or NOT to spread. THAT is the question.

For it is better to have spread and eaten than to never have spread before.

Shall I compare thee to a yeasty spread?

Some useful proverbs
1. A rolling Marmite jar gathers no moss
2. A Marmite jar waits for no man
3. Do to Marmite what you would have Marmite do to you.

BTW, Clanky, is there any rules on ships for lifeboats that say "Spambot and Marmite first"?

We do try our best, Clanky.

Now... I must leave to fulfil my ambition of sailing around the world in an empty Marmite jar.

Probably would be better than travelling in some ferries I've seen

Yes, OK. Thanks for that. And just what has YOUR opinion got to do with the ongoing crusade for world domination by Marmite?

Marmite WILL inherit the world. There will be a second coming of Marmite.  (when people have recovered from the first). Marmite has sacrificed itself to be eaten to take the sins of the food eating world.
