I am very relieved that marmite is freely available in the shops here, even the local Spanish supermarkets stock it.

Those who have never sampled Marmite have never lived. Fancy going to your grave having missed out on the stuff.

If I catch them not enjoying Marmite (peace be upon it) then they might go to their graves quicker than anticipated.

You could say "Marmite XO. That's for real men."

Or you could say "Marmite XO. That's for people who've blown their taste buds out with original Marmite."

It's to be hoped that the Marmite-haters don't go to other countries in the world

Righto, and Danish on this forum? Come hither and answer for your crime against Marmite!

You think "those" cartoons a couple of years back got you into trouble? Huh. You haven't seen anything yet! The forces of Marmite WILL take over the world and form the Nation of Marmite under Marmiteans.

(for the sake of the professionally offended numpties this is only in jest. The Danes brought us Carlsberg so they can't be ALL that bad... They just need help, not war!)

(though I might nick the Copenhagen Mermaid and ransom it back... for a few jars of Marmite)

Marmite.... That most British of things. As British as a London Routemaster bus. As British as HM Queen.

Hang on...

(apart from being invented by a German)

(apart from being named after a French cooking utensil)

Unfortunately for the Danes, Marmite is now an 'illegal food-product' in their country..
