TFM- I have known you long enough to spot your feeble attempt at sarcasm... By repeating the name of the place I suspect you are commenting on its spelling... That is the local spelling, you know. People quite often criticise me for referring to places by their local name...

...But I expect Johnny foreigner coming here to call, say, London as London, not Londres, or ZeLondon or Londonski- so I think it only right I call Johnny foreigner cities by their local name.

But living in Douvres, you should know that.

I wasn;t actually.

I get annoyed (okay not annoyed as such) when people call Dunkerque, 'Dunkirk'. It isn't - it is Dunkerque  >:(

Oh sorry, TFM. I retract my comment.

There isn't so much wrong with spelling something in your local language when you are local- but when on an international forum with lots of Johnny foreigners then they don't understand  ;D

Seriously, it is just trying to show respect for the country you are visiting AND it shows that you are educayted, inteligunt and cleva.

How much do you care about what someone has posted, that you quoting every single post you see, even if it's right above yours?  I'm starting to confuse you with The Parrot Man.

Surely you have no life then if you have no girl, don't drink, don't smoke, sitting all day on forum & quoting everything you see.

Apart from the poll at the top of the page.
and apart from the topic title on every post
and apart from on my avatary thing.

TFM, this really isn't on. You can't wait until I am gone before talking about Marmite and then stop it when I get back...

Or has the false pretender been back?
