How to install SSE successfully:
- Find where you installed the game and go here: \Ship Simulator Extremes\Resources\redist
- Run all the exes located in that folder (dxwebsetup.exe , PhysX_9.10.0129_SystemSoftware.exe and vcredist.exe) and also the DXSETUP.exe located in the DirectX folder.
- Reboot.
- Go here

hit DOWNLOAD, and install both the x86 (vcredist_x86.exe) and x64 (vcredist_x64.exe) versions.
- Then reboot again. Now it works. Note it is very slow to start up, but it does work.
