V-Ray for Sketchup
« on: March 13, 2014, 17:33:25 »

After a very long time away from Sketchup now, I have started work on a new project to replace the Fictional Ship and Oriana Project. While working on a certain thing, I wanted to create a render to share on here. One of the textures in the view was wood, and I thought would look best varnished.
So I went to Vray to add the reflection to the texture, creating the reflection layer, and adding the reflection amount to 0.2. I then rendered the view and the once dark wooden texture was now white with slight reflection on it, after trying everything I could not get the texture to show through.
I was hoping if anyone knew of this problem and could help me.  :)

I believe you can also set the reflection color on a grayscale level. I use vray for rhino which is exactly the same as SU. Materials are very complex in vray due to the many variables. I would therefore recommend any beginner to download a material library with all different kinds of textures that you can edit as you see fit. You can find many libraries for free.
