absolutely - With all the add ons its extremely versatile and offers fantastic choice in different boats and sceneries. It also handles very much like Ship SIm so it will give you good practice at steering and moving large boats

The addons are great, but thats just all.

There may be more functions and stuff but the super bad simulation just wastes it all.

VS really needs a new physics engine.

I d/l the VS demo yesterday, but for some reason I can't get it to select a mission for the demo.  Not sure if it's not compatible w/ my system, or if I'm just having brain cramps. :(

I really love all the different ship add-ons that VS has!  Be nice if VS & ShipSim would merge and keep the best of both!

I don't like VS one bit i'm afraid. Can't download any addons at all. Emailed teh support they took me through it all but nothing. Emailed customer services. Was put through to tech support again. Nothing. Stopped replying to my emails aswell. :'( >:(

That's my opinion. We all have different opinions.

As ss06 is now only £10/$20 its worth it just for the curiosity element.

I only bought it a week ago (out of boredom only) and am hooked

I like both of them and both should use some of the others features like shipsim08 should have a site where you can download ships, maps, etc. made by shipsim or the community. And vs should look into better graphics.

VS is getting better graphics, but much of it depends on the add-on developer.
Unfortunately there is a big lack of knowledge and a bunch of newbies making add-ons for VS…

Here is some of my additions under development that may pull up the graphics in some way:

Thats really impressive. You really get the sense of scale standing next to a great big ship.

Stuart Hi. I replied to your p.m. RE Blender, but if you don't receive it see my site for Blender Tutorials
and satellite scenery tutorial.

Barry

P.S Blender will also export as .x  complete with texture for VS but I use vrml2(vrml97) for the Stentec simulators.
