Windows 8 ?
« on: December 08, 2012, 04:18:02 »

Is SSE compatible with Windows 8 ?
I would like to get back into ShipSim, gave up on SS08 and Win 7 after the OS upgrade.

Hi Dave,

People seem to be getting very mixed results from windows 8. SSE works for some people, and doesn't work for others...

Will Vstep release an update which will make SSE 2010 be able to run it well on Windows 8?

I'm on winodws 8 and seems to be working perfectly fine. I'm pretty sure if it works on win7 it works on win8. If not try comptatibilty mode.

I love winodws 8. Once you get use to it its really much faster and more fluid than windows 7. I guess it's just preference.

Hi.
I am on Windows 8, having bought a laptop in early February that runs on Windows 8. It could be due to the fact that it is a laptop, not a proper gaming computer, but I found the game works fine, just a little laggy and it takes at least 2-3 mins to start up, and another 2 mins to actually load a map/mission etc.

I am hoping that an update for SSE fixes this, but again, it could be due to the fact that I am running this game on a laptop.

Hope this helped, Aslas

SSE should have the same fair chance running on Win8 as it does on Win7. It should run without any problem.
If the game cannot start it's mostly hardware related or driver/software besides the OS.
