Schiff Simulator 2012
« on: August 02, 2012, 00:43:41 »

This is a strange one... a new simulator entitled "Schiff Simulator 2012(DE) / River Simulator 2012 (UK/US)"claiming to be a sequel to "Ship Simulator" has appeared over on gamersgate (http://www.gamersgate.co.uk/DD-RIVER2012/river-simulator-2012). By the look of it it is a clone of VStep's sim series but I don't think they have developed it unless they were keeping it awfully quiet.

You know you've made a bad game when even astragon think they can do better

Its not a "sequel" to shipsim, and its not developed by Vstep.

But the name "Schiffs Simulator" is so similar to the name Ship Simulator. The font is also very similar.

I think this a case of a copyright infringement which is illegal of course.

More info can be found at http://80.95.161.114/shipsim/forum/index.php/topic,28770.0.html (http://80.95.161.114/shipsim/forum/index.php/topic,28770.0.html) topic "SSE - wird es irgendwann noch einmal Neuigkeiten geben?"

Hi
There is a difference its states 2012 were as V-Step is Extremes so were do
you see a  copyright infringement.
The company have been doing simulators for a long time if you look on there
website I think its a good thing and I myself am following it waiting for English
version to be released.
To me this gives more to ship simulator fans and can only be a bonus.

I can see an legal case being launched as they use ship sim in there name then it sounds so similear to ship sim the name.
It's also using a lot of text and infomation from ship sim.
Logo
Looks the same
I think this could be a legal case

Gentlemen Spambot
There will be no action taken or case to answer to these people are in the business of
making simulation games.
Why would V-Step want to sue them I am afraid some of us have overactive imaginations.

It must be America and Apple's bad influences when it comes to suing for everything

Yep apple and samsunge bad
Apple have to show all there iPhone prototypes and samsung needs to show there huge pile of prototypes to the corts. Plus it belived there having to delay the verdict so they can see what it looks like after the relise. This includes sale bans and even the iPod, mac, MacBook air, MacBook pro and iPad lines have to go into it to make a verdict. This includes all the Samsung equitment and how they made the idea of iPhone, iPad,iOS and iPod.
And who ever loses will have to pay $2.3 billion!¡  :-X
Talk about Russian rullet

Ahoy to all who is interested in the English version:
Have a  look on this site (http://www.simuwelt.de)
And on the site of Amazon (http://www.amazon.de) are two nice vid's, one showing a WORKING lock. The second vid is from the MAC version, but according to my source in Germany it's the same quality on Windows platforms.
Have fun looking
