James Garner Fans (and NOT Titanic!)
« on: July 21, 2012, 16:53:33 »

.....now that I've got your attention.... ;) I'll take my tounge out of cheek and say, seriously:

If you're on Facebook head on over to

https://www.facebook.com/#!/LifeAchievementOscarForJamesGarner (https://www.facebook.com/#!/LifeAchievementOscarForJamesGarner)

and click to "like" the page so as to help petition for a Life Achievment Oscar for James Garner, who has won Emmys, Golden Globes, and Screen Actors Guild awards, but no Academy Award. I can't think of anyone who deserves it more.

James Garner is not only a fine actor but a great role model and it shows in his acting. Garner has that natural talent of reactive acting. He's comparable to greats like Gary Cooper and Spencer Tracy, in my opinion. It would be nice to submit a petition the Academy with as many likes as possible, which is due by 31 July 2012. All 'likes' would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
Jeff

But to be honest, I still love him most as Detektiv Rockford (plus his Pontiac)  :2thumbs:

It's been months since I looked at the forums and I took a look around, about half of every board was something about Titanic. Hence the first line disclaimer. Geez, gotta explain everything to some people.

In all fairness, he is only 8 years old. And English isn't his first language, so cut the guy some slack ;)

"hansgutana" profile says 8 years old, but this is the internet, anybody can claim anything. If the rules say 13 and older then why don't they have software stopping someone from claiming a birthdate less than 13 years prior to present?

Anyone under the age of 13 using the internet that provides information to websites runs in to legal trouble under United States law. Other countries have similar laws, if not identical, laws. Between Europe and the US it's going to be very, very similar anyway. The US can work with other nations if they feel laws were violated in the US. There's also a thing called INTERPOL (International Police) that help enforce laws across borders.

So, I'm not responsible for 8 year olds on here and I'm not going to read every profile to verify who I'm talking to. Maybe I have a very dry sense of humor, but I still put a disclaimer on the first line on the initial posting. Bait and switch, that's what I did.

I actually thought some one was gonna start another useless Titanic topic lol.
Doesn't anyone think the US has WAY too many useless laws?

US law means nothing in here, and the young man in question isn't even a US citizen. The only effective laws are the rules of these boards, and I believe that people in their early teens are allowed to become members.

One usefull law would be one that helps get rid of all the guns. But I don't see any presidential candidate burning their fingers on that one.. :-\

Yeah, this is really getting off topic. Can a Moderator/Admin lock this before flaming or stuff like that starts?

According to the rules of "The Chat Lounge" is states:
"Chat with your fellow Ship Simulator fans here about anything you like!"

Besides, the subject title is one thing and the content is entirely different, so it was "off topic" from the beginning.
