Ship Simulator Extremes low FPS
« on: July 08, 2012, 12:32:46 »

Hello,

I Ship Simulator Extremes on my computer. But he has a jerky picture (low FPS). Other games on my computer do it right, like GTA IV, GTA IV while many more "power" needs than Ship Simulator.

Who can help me with this?

Ahoy Kapitein-Maurice,
First at all: Welcome on this Forum.
To get an answer to this quite technical Question it's neccesarry to register Your copy.
How? Just click on Profile (in the top Orange/Yellowish bar) and enter the Registration Code which is coming with Your game. You can find this number printed on a sticker beneath the DVD or, in case your copy has a printed manual, on the backside of the same.
Good luck and Happy Sailing

Ahoy Kapitein-Maurice,
Thanks for Registration.
To be able to check Your machines spec's please post Your dxdiag.
How? Press and hold down the Windows key and press the R key. This will open a pop-up window called "Run"or in the Duych Windows Edition "Uitvoeren". Type dxdiag and hit Enter.
Do any possible test and at the end click on "Save all Results (Alle gegevens opslaan)"
Save this to your desktop.
Send a reply and click on Additional Options.
Click on Attach.
Browse to Your Desktop, find the dxdiag.txt file and click open.
Then click on Post.

Some technichians around the Forum will check your spec's and hopefully give You the suggestions  to let Your game run smoother.
Good luck and happy Sailing

BTW, the fact that "other games on Your computer" do it right will not mean that Your machine is able to run ShipSim Extremes in a proper way.

I did what you asked for, the dxdiag.txt found. Hopefully this is what you meant.

That's preciesly what I ment. In my opinion Your machine is good enough to run the game. Try to shut down as many as possible actions and program's running on the background, like Windows Messenger etc.
Good luck

Hi Kapitein-Maurice,
Your Asus K73SV notebook appears to be using the onboard Intel graphic chip instead of the Nvidia GeForce GT 540M that is in your notebook as shown in your DxDiag.
Display device in use: Card name: Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000
                                Manufacturer: Intel Corporation
Chip type: Intel(R) HD Graphics Family

Drivers available: NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M

If you follow this link it tells you about it.
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Asus-K73SV.54160.0.html

Switching to the Nvidia graphic proccessor should give you a better frame rate. I am not sure of the way to change the graphic proccessor in use but maybe someone on the forum can help you with that.

Regards, Dave
