Hey there!
My favourite ship is probably the Stena Line HSS Voyager.

1520 passengers + 375 cars, or 120 cars + 50 freight units (900 lane metres)
126.6 m * 40.0 m * 4.8 m draft
19,638 tonnes
68 MW (twin COGAG configuration of 2 x GE LM2500 + 2 x GE LM1600 gas turbines)
40 knots+

I have the pleasure of going on it every year. Hope to someday see it in the game!
Cheers,
Nathanael

Hurtigruten has many nice ships ;)
Here in Ã…lesund were I live it comes a Hurtigruten ship every day and in the winter it lays here for two-tree hours....but in the summer it comes to Ã…lesund early in the morning and then leaves for the Geiranger fjord and then comes back to Ã…lesund in the afternoon :)
Anyway...my personal favourite of Hurtigruten`s ships would be M/S Polarlys and M/S Finnmarken ;)

Yeah I agree that they are all nice ships....well...actually I don't like M/S Lyngen(used to be M/S Midnatsol) and M/S Vesterålen..I know they handles good in bad weather but I just don't like how they look(but that's different for each and one of us right ;) )

Well I didn't mean to steal this topic and make it to a Hurtigruten topic so now I would like to hear about some other nice ferries ;) :D

I would love to see a Caledonian MacBrayne ferry in SS2008. At the moment MV Clansman is my favourite.

Built: 1998 by Appledore Shipbuilders, Devon, England.
Length: 99m
Width: 15.8m
Draught: 3.2m
Gross tonnage: 5499 tons
Speed: 16.5 knots
Machinery: MAK diesel engines driving twin screws
Vehicles: 90
Passengers: 638
Crew: 28
Port of Registry: Glasgow
Diesel engines
Twin screw

Owner website: www.calmac.co.uk
Unofficial website: www.shipsofcalmac.co.uk

I recently went on a 14 hours non-landing cruise on MV Clansman from Oban to Castlebay, on the Isle of Barra. The voyage to Barra was quite 'interesting' as she encountered huge swells coming in from the Atlantic even though it was  perfect weather - sunny, blue skies with gentle winds.

When MV Clansman is at full speed, she is quite a sight to see with huge bow waves.

Another my personal favourite is the Caledonian Isles. When she entered service in 1993, she was the largest ever ferry built for Caledonian MacBrayne. Even though another larger ferry has since been built (MV Isle of Lewis), Caledonian Isles is still the largest ferry on the River Clyde. I can remember when she visited Gourock (her owner's HQ) for the first time, she towered over everything (I think the high tide also helped!  ;D), prompting some remarks from commuters that she must have been a Cunard vessel visiting the pier!

Year: 1993
Built by: Richards Shipbuilders, Lowestoft, England
Length: 94m
Width: 15.8m
Draught: 3.2m
Speed: 15 knots
Passengers: 1000
Cars: 110
Crew: 26

Hi there,
even though my personal favourite ship is the HSS, I agree that pne of the Calmacs should be added. I have taken one from Oben-Mull. Lovely small ship! ;)

This must be my favourite ferry, or maybe she should be classified as a cruise ship? She got car decks and sails between Oslo and Kiel.

Look at the amazing view from that restaurant, the entire stern of the ship is a huge glass wall.
It needs a lot of cleaning to keep the salt away ;)

Great model! He is also working on the Queen Mary 2, I wish these ships could be available for SS08 and not just Virtual Sailor.

JHB, why don't you do business with Vstep? ;)
