How about HMS Warrior? A truly pioneering ship of her time.

guess like every ship was pioneering for up to 3-5 years since its keel laying

HMS Warrior was so far ahead of contemporaries at the time that your guess isn't correct.

Like the Gloire before (French), and HMS Dreadnought some decades later. There are occasionally ships that are so far ahead of the rest that they mark a genuine turning point in design.

Take HMS Hermes- the first purpose built carrier, or HMS Ark Royal.

USS Nautilis, the worlds first nuclear powered sub.... the list goes on. Not all design evolutions are pioneering, but some are.

Hms warrior obsoleted in like 10 or less years since her launch, while gloire wasnt a true worthy ironclad at all

Actually jack, if you want to be pedantic, Gloire WAS an ironclad- Warrior was not.

IronCLAD refers to the placing of iron sheeting over the hull. Warrior did not have a wooden hull (but did have a wooden skeleton- there IS a difference).

HMS Warrior was sufficiently far ahead of her contempories to be classed as ground breaking. She was twice the size and fire power, significantly faster and her weapon range meant she could obliterate the opposition whilst remaining outside of their retaliatory fire.

You must remember that the period marked a fast pace of change and 10 years represented a substantial development period. You could also look at HMS Dreadnought- again a similarly massive leap forward in technology- yet she was outdated well before her expected lifespan. Why? Each Country will follow the developments of another, learn from its mistakes and have the benefit of foresight.

That is how nearly all technological development works.

Can I suggest that you should have a look up on the official warrior site- it has a generic section on warship development.

Actually, "captain jack", perhaps I've been unfair on you.

Would it be easier to ask YOU to name technological developments that have been truly pioneering?

I love my Iron Clad ... in Civilization. Will I get to play a realistic Iron Clad in the future in SSE?

It took a year to release on vessel, No offense Vstep, but at the pace we're going, The Deniz will be out by August 2012, and the Oceana Will be out by May 2013!

The world would be 5 months dead by then!
